Personally wouldn't recommend this school for any child with additional needs. My son diagnosed adhd and ASD attended this school for prep in 2023. Unfortunately for us we were zoned and were unable to change schools. First day I walked into the office to collect the enrolment forms for prep on the last day of term 2022 I witnessed an adult school teacher, principle yelling at a child I assumed it was another adult being fired by the way they were being aggressive They clearly had not realised I was standing at the desk waiting for these papers. I immediate went home and was absolutely blown away by what I had seen that I decided to try and locate another school after making a formal complaint to the board of education about my concerns. 2023 came and unfortunately for us due to zoning we were unable to secure a spot at another school. Within three months my bright son had started to cry when it came to attending school which I haven't ever had to deal with before. This took me back as this isn't like my son. I decided from there to keep a close eye onto what was happening. One day after school my son came home crying because of his teacher.. I asked what was wrong and he had told me that he had his "marker rights" removed.. again I was confused. After school hours his teacher had contacted me via teacher student portal to tell me she was "worried my son would tell me she had made him distressed at school today" ?!. Red flag for me. Why would you be "worried"? I immediately asked for a meeting and expressed I wasn't happy about my son being discluded from using his marker and I was confused as to why this would happen. Turns out the teacher had left the prep aged children unattended and unsupervised with markers let alone a child with adhd and ASD alone & unsupervised with a marker without formal instruction which in the hand over notes from kinder she was strictly told he needed to have formal instructions and it be made clear what was expected from him my son and his friends were over excited and did beautiful art on another child's top who was also in the friend group therefore my son lost his marker rights. Well if you are unimpressed with a decision made by the teacher please don't try and sit a meeting with the principal to discuss it because you will never get one. Unfortunately it wasn't until a local parent posted on Facebook asking recommendations that I stated what I did above that the principle finally decided to reach out to ask me to remove the comment and he would like to discuss my concerns as someone in the staff had seen my comment and relayed it to him. I refused the meeting and my comment remained. Having our contracted therapist attend your school grounds to come back and tell me if my child was her child she would remove them asap was the final straw for me to seek alternative schooling for my son. Please do your research before coming here.
