Stihl Shop Nelson is now proudly owned and operated by Jeff and Jackie Dick.
Richard Kingsford is Jackie's son, and he has come on board into the parts/sales department.

I recently purchased a 10cm and a 15cm Wedge along with a chain. On checking the receipt I discovered I had been overcharged for the Wedges. I had been charged for 2 x 25cm Wedges. Returned to the store and they processed a refund. On checking the details once at the job I discovered they had charged me for a 25cm wedge instead of the 15cm wedge I had purchased so was short changed for the second time in a week.  In future I will only deal with the Stihl shop in Motueka as they have much better knowledge and customer service.

Guy on the phone was rude and very arrogant. Closing our account, such bad service.

Drove in from wakefield as facebook says open till 2pm sat so does the sign on the door. Got there at 1.25pm and they were closed. If you need outdoor equipment outside of bank hours you will need to go elsewhere

Looking for a new mower, but unsure about a battery one. They offered me a loan battery mower to try before purchase. Really important - I do not know if I would have spent $800 on a machine that was unfamiliar to me. Lawn took 35mins to cut and battery still had half it's charge - great.

I was looking for a brush cutter attachment for my weed eater. The owner opened several boxes to try different options. He also searched online to see if there was anything compatible. This was going above and beyond and is greatly appreciated. Highly recommended.

Not at all happy with Stihl Shop Nelson. Had a broken Masport lawnmower. They took it apart without telling me that this would cost me $ 40.00. And now, as the lawnmower cannot be repaired which was predictable I have to pay another $ 10.00 for it to be dumped.

Bought a Stihl chainsaw and after just a few hrs use it wouldn't start. Returned to the shop and they found other potentially serious problems. They contacted their wholesaler, Stihl NZ, and the wholesaler would not do anything without having the saw sent to Auckland. This left me without a saw that I needed. Michelle at the Nelson store took it upon herself to refund the purchase price or credit me for another saw. 5 stars to Michelle for her great customer service. no stars to Stihl NZ for their complete lack of quick customer service.

Owner is miserably tight. I bought a New chainsaw and when I asked for a discount he said 10% off any accessories I got with it. I bought a helmet, files and other small things. He then handed the sale over to the young guy and disappeared out back. I paid and when given the receipt I noticed I hadn't been given a 10% discount on the helmet we are talking $15 discount here, it's the principle I asked the young fella about it and he told me 'dad said not to discount the helmet' Did I go back- no, I purchased a weed eater and hedge trimmer from on farm agri centre and got superb service. My advice is avoid Stihl Nelson

I do not recommend this place at all.Had to take my chainsaw elsewhere to get it re tuned also it took a long time to get it back. Plus other issues.
