Poor quality product and even worst customer support. Order 5 windows and they arrived late with no explanation , 4 were well below what was promised by the company, the 5th window had paint chips, out of square sliding pain and a dent outer frame. Would not recommend Stegbar especially with so many other better quality and cheaper products on the market. Would NOT recommend this company UPDATE… They are now going to replace all the sashes as they’ve finally admitted that they of unacceptable quality. This has taken three months to get to this point but still waiting for new sashes. Such por product quality and customer support should really be an embarrassment for them.
The poorest service you can ever get. I ordered a window from them. Then I ordered a window restrictor from the sales. The sales told me lead time is two weeks but after I placed the order, the installation department told me the lead time is about 2 months but doesn't have a fixed date. The sales know nothing but just wanted to make the sale. I tried to call the sales every day but never answered my call or reply my email. Until someone else told me a date that they would come to install the restrictor. The installation was postponed and postponed again. One person came to install the restrictor and realised that it was not a one person quick job how ridiculous they underestimated their job, and they told me to wait to be rescheduled for another chance. Feel like their sales, scheduling and technician departments are totally independent to each other. This company has no internal system and people have to expect great luck to have their product installed on time. Stegbar has clearly shown how the company be like when the company gives ZERO care to their customer and would take ZERO responsibility for things informed to the customer. Great job!
Doing small Renno and needed new built in wardrobes in 2 rooms. Rep came and measured up, sent quote and instructed us to go to Chatswood on weekend to choose handles and pay deposit. So we arrive at Chatswood ready to purchase wardrobes - literally had my card out ready to part with $8k. Sales assistant said can’t take order as Rep hasn’t sent proper contract and he can’t be contacted on weekends - nor does any other manager in Sydney so I would have to come back during the week. Concerned about lead time I asked when it would be installed but she couldn’t confirm as that is organised by a different department which is also unavailable on a Saturday morning. Really absurd to think you have a written quote - you come in to pay it but they can’t close the sale. I tried calling and texting Rep to no avail whilst there. Left the shop and won’t be going back...
Wish we took the time to properly read other peoples reviews before we purchased new windows and doors from Stegbar... We have been fixing up our house in stages and they have been, by far, the worst supplier we have ever dealt with. From specifying the product, through to install and trying to organise corrections, they were a nightmare. Please dont make the same mistake as we did : or Stegbar please improve your service, it's not fair to treat customers this way.
Buyer beware, the after sales service of Stegbar is beyond poor. My new door was over $3000.00 once installed the lock didn’t align therefore didn’t work. It took a week for a service technician he spent 5 minutes said it was fixed but guess what no it wasn’t. I called again they said sorry we will put you on a priority for another tech service call, priority means 4 days. Today is the day but they have canceled. The cancellation message suggests another week before I can get a door that works properly. If that’s priority. Plus the confirmation had 50% of my address correct. The right street but wrong suburb. It appears if you want 50% service or half a job Stegbar are the people to see. It’s either that or they just like to do everything twice. It looks like it will be over 3 weeks of a Dis functioning front door. Hopefully this saga isn’t over so we will wait another week and see. Luckily they said I’m a priority. Think twice.
Visited the Chatswood showroom ready to sit down, discuss and purchase our windows. We scanned the QR code, pushed open the door, and entered the showroom. We were pretty much ready to serve Stegbar our money on a silver platter. This should be easy, and we were excited! A sales rep came over, we explained our need and showed picture. Strangely we heard the word 'no' three times before we passed the covid check in desk! Already it felt like it was getting weird - doesn't Stegbar exist to sell windows? Ah- we had not read the reviews beforehand. We persevered as we'd gone out of our way to organise our visit to the showroom. Realised quickly that the sales rep was possibly sales impaired. The sales rep went on to demonstrate excellence in hesitancy to show us examples, discuss options, or to listen to our needs and look properly at our photos, and was not interested in our details. Our suspicions were confirmed. All we could do refocus ourselves and try to salvage this increasingly disappointing visit into an entertaining one. Finally, after we attempted to strike up more discussion with a few more questions, we were handed a brochure and told to come back after we'd looked at it. Wow. It's like Sydney's very own Fawlty Towers. We sat in the car, shocked at what just happened. So, in short, highly recommended for an excursion if you're a marketing student needing a case study for 'business-gone-wrong', or if you're a generally bored passer by seeking air con on a hot day. Based on our experience and subsequently seeing the many, many terrible reviews, it appears the Stegbar business model has ruined an otherwise great product and has destroyed the brand. Maybe it's really a front for some sort of clandestine operation. MINUS -10 stars.
Avoid avoid avoid .... you have been warned ! I ordered 4 panel sliding doors with plenty of notice 6 weeks ahead to replace existing doors builder was engaged for this. I was told I had to book the glass separately. When I called for the glass 3 weeks prior to installation, I was told it was too early. A few days later with the wife admitted in ICU in the interim, and with still 12 days notice, it was too late to make the installation date. As we live in the house, we need to have the old doors removed, new doors and glass installed on the same day. So we had to reschedule the installation with $$$ wasted due to the builder having to stand down with his crew. Who imagined such a wierd ordering process ? Did we really need to split both activities ? The doors were delivered with 3 glass panels pre-installed and it only took 10 mins for the glazier to install the remaining one. Ok, I get the message, Stegbar does not care about small customers, only the big construction companies .... Wish I had known that prior ... Round 2 - When installing the doors, the lock did not work. The builder tried, another tradesman tried, and I tried to no avail. I called the support line with "cannot lock the door to my house" and "need same day service" and was told to wait for a technician appointment. The following day, the builder could not install the insect screens with no instructions and with multiple sets of handles, aluminium extrusion pieces, he was reluctant to guess what to do on a brand new set of doors. I called Stegbar once more and was told the technician would address that with the builder when on-site. Unfortunately, the technician came 5 business days later and the day after the builder left. When the technician came, he tried the lock and admitted it was faulty but he had no parts with him. I explained my issue with the screen and he told he would help with the assembly on his next visit. Round 3 - another week later, another technican shows up to fix/replace the lock. Unfortunately he does not have the right spare parts with him some story about left side lock in a right side door. Explaining the situation with the screen, he tells me he cannot help he is not allowed to perform "installations" and also tells me to simply dispose of the parts - why were they needed in the first place ? - the screens are not installed properly yet. Round 4 - back to Stegbar customer service asking for installation instruction for the screens as they are not available on line on the web site or among the numerous videos on the jeldwen youtube channel. I was told an email would be sent me in CC so I could track it and a new appointment would be made. Round 5 - 2 days later, with no email, news nor update, I called Stegbar customer service and confronted the Stegbar representative with the current situation poor service and no working lock on the doors, lack of product instructions and unable to install the screens. I also complained about the second technician who 'played' with the lock for 90 minutes, creating access issues for other trades electrician / plumber / plasterer when the first technician, who was a lot faster, took only 5 minutes to test and diagnose the lock, dismounting and remounting it twice in that time. I asked for the first technician to be sent back and to avoid the second one. This was received very cooly. I was told that noone was available to help me. I then asked to talk to a manager and was told that no manager was available either but a message would be left for one to call me back. This is now 4 days later and I am still waiting.... Would I have received the same treatment if I was a developper with a large order ? Probably not ... From a small customer to another, I hope you learn from my mistake, *** NEVER, NEVER AGAIN ANOTHER STEGBAR/JELDWEN PRODUCT ***
Great service from salesperson Dalton Bass in the Chatswood NSW showroom. Returned our calls & replied to emails promptly. He understood our needs and pointed us in the right direction of what to purchase. The check measure went smoothly with Greg & lead time on manufacturing & installing was realistic & on time. The installers did a great job on the installation day and cleaned up after themselves. Overall VERY HAPPY with quality of product & service received. Thanks
I have not bought anything from Stegbar yet however we went to the Chatswood show room and two representives were excellent and very knowledgable. They provided answers to all our questions with a smile. Thank you
