Highly recommend this holiday park. Our family of 4 stayed in one of the renovated buses. Excellent amenities, including two fridges, two heaters, a hot strong shower and premium bedding. It’s not within walking distance to the shops, but a very peaceful lakeside location.
the park seemed nice, we stayed in bus 5 and it wasn’t clean when we arrived, the sheets didn’t fit any of the beds and there weren’t doona covers for the bunks, on the double bed we woke up with the sheet off the mattress and the sheets didn’t smell clean when we got into bed. the bathroom was relatively clean however you can notice that they don’t properly clean the bathroom area floor as there were obvious splatters on the black surface. the heaters worked well but were so loud they can’t be kept on at night and the bus was freezing - which was too be expected so i recommend bringing extra blankets. we booked on airbnb and the listing mentions a kitchen - the camp kitchen was sorely lacking in equipment; only one small grill oven with one dirty tray, a fridge with no space and two electric bbqs. we had to use our own camping stove which thank god we had. also no heaters so it was freezing !nnoverall the experience was fine for one night and for the fun of the bus experience but there needs to be more attention to detail, consistency and cleanliness
Our stay in Stawell was quite lovely.nBooked an ensuite site for 4 nights.nFriendly welcome from 2 Irish lasses on our arrival, who informed and directed us to our site.nThe ensuite is dated, but clean and functional with hot water.nAn added bonus was the addition of fluffy white bath sheets, hand towels, face washers and bath mats.nAnother bonus was the free laundry facilities.nAn easy walking distance to the Stawell Gift Museum, The Gift Pub and the historic buildings in town central make it a lovely place to stay.nIf there’s a race day, you’re 500 metres from the track.nThe Gift Hotel has good old fashioned hospitality and the The Gift Museum is worth a visit.nHighly recommend.
Stayed here for 4 nights as a base to inject some money back into the region. Stayed here many years ago, but won’t bother again. Stayed in an en-suite site. Would have appreciated that the site was reasonably tidy of sticks and bark before we arrived. Staff tidied and bagged up debris from the other en-suite sites while we were there, but then left the garbage bags full of sticks and bark laying on the site. They were still there when we left.nThe amount of security cameras around the park, is a bit of overkill and feels like an invasion of privacy.nWe also wondered why staff stopped their buggies a couple of times each day and took photos of us, our vehicle and camp.nThe park is not well cared for compared to when I stayed many years ago. Don’t let the website fool you if you’re looking for grassy sites.nIt appears there are far too many projects on the go and none of them finished, except possibly for anything painted with the black paint that must have been a good price.nThe park looks like a building or manufacturing site.nThe ceiling painted black makes it impossible to see in the en-suite.nGenerally, the park didn’t feel welcoming and we wouldn’t recommend.
We stayed in a cabin for a night during the hot weekend. Took awhile to figure out how to turn on the AC. Even after AC was turned on, the cabin was still hot.nnWe could not cook dinner that night because the gas was not connected. When we called reception, they told us that the entire camp had no gas and apparently they had only found out 30 minutes before.nnStaff did not try to rectify the situation or offer any sort of compensation so I guess everyone either ate bread or starved that night.nnThe only good thing about the place is that the beds are comfy.
