Rooms and bathroom needed updating, you could hear all the traffic and we were on floor 8.nLobby and breakfast area were very good. Great selection of breakfast items, we especially loved the pancakes. Fabulous location for train, busses and walking around the city. Staff were polite.
My wife and I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly thoughtful and service was second to none. The room was lovely and catered for our every need. The in-house restaurants were fantastic. The location of the hotel is perfect for a visit to Adelaide, is very central and has easy car parking on site. Thoroughly recommended. On the morning of 18th July 2025, while retrieving my insulin injection from the fridge, I noticed it was not cold enough. In fact, the top of the minibar fridge was unusually warm, indicating a clear fault. Upon closer inspection, I also observed a thick layer of dust on top of the fridge, which was very unhygienic.nnGiven the urgency and the importance of properly storing medication, I raised the matter with a staff member at the reception. He acknowledged the concern and assured me it would be reported and attended to. However, upon returning to the hotel late that evening, I found that no action had been taken.nnDuring checkout the following morning, I brought this up again with the same staff member. While I appreciated his apology, I was disappointed that no steps had been taken to resolve the issue during my stay. I showed him a photo I had taken of the fridge, which he photographed using his own device and assured me he would escalate it to senior management.nnFrankly, this experience fell short of the standards I expected from a hotel of Stamford Plaza’s reputation. As someone who chose your hotel specifically to celebrate a special occasion, I was left extremely dissatisfied. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not consider staying again or recommending the property to friends or family.
If this is a 5 star hotel the system needs review. The room badly needed a paint and the bathroom regrouted. Lighting was poor . My phone wouldn't connect with the TV. But only $149/night it was reasonable value. 3.5 star hotel at best. Excellent location.
