lovely place! great service! we had a nice man handle our luggage for us as soon as we arrived and took it up to our room! we were also happy to be able to get breakfast to our room and the lady who delivered was so lovely! the room is very nice, great veiw and very clean! i have enjoyed my stay here thankyou!
Burgers were so dry when we were served the vegetarian version. I hated the taste of the patty so much, it literally tasted microwaved / store bought! The cheese looked like food poisoning nnThe burgers we were served tasted frozen and microwaved. The bun looked and felt storebought. The only highlight was that the chips were actually quite tasty and crunchy.
Unfortunately the Grand Stamford Hotel has lost its “Grand”.nEverything about the place is dated and in need of a total deep clean and refurbishment.nThe first room we were given had disgusting stains all over the soft furnishings due to lack of cleaning and it was missing many items which we had to ask for, that should have been standard in a room for the rates charged.nAfter complaining to the only positive of the whole hotel Kristine down at reception, who arranged for us to move to another room where the furniture wasn’t as bad - but still not perfect.nTo top it off, no one in the hotel or conveniently forgot to tell us that on Saturday afternoon from 4-8pm a rock concert was held on the lawn out the front of the hotel and right below our windows single glazed - BUT to compound it, on the Sunday a disco was held there from 4-10pm ON A SUNDAY!!!nWe certainly won’t be returning and I recommend others to check before thinking of staying there.nI strongly recommend Management take heed of this and many similar reviews and fix these issues.
Rooms are a bit old looking, location is good. Pool is good but sauna was too cold mainly due to the door being not sealed real well and doesn’t self close therefore letting all the heat out. Needs a cold shower near sauna to be any benefit once working correctly.
Service is very good.nPlease give this place a good clean and refresh, and remove the overbearing air freshener.nnThe location is excellent but the maintenance is bringing this previously iconic hotel, down.nnAppreciate that due to a broken pool that ended up being fixed we were offered complimentary drinks.nThe phone rings out I have been repeatedly callingnThis is not 5 starts and desperately needs a renovation, the location is fab.
