I previously would visit this Vinnies store at Annerley every 6 weeks or so. I would pick up the odd useful kitchen item or reasonably priced piece of clothing. This isn't the case anymore! It has been a while since I've visited because the last 2 times the shop's pricing had got quite expensive. If you know your shopping you will notice many things you could buy in a shop, new, for less. I heard customers in the shop making this remark about objects that were overpriced. I was interested to see whether my visit would be any different but unfortunately no I don't think I will waste my time going back here again. Certainly they have a fairly large range because it's a large store. They particularly had lots of sets of DVDs, not so much in the way of kitchenware. The was plenty of clothes but pricey for what they were. I noticed the books were very, very expensive. For example, one small book $15. The cheapest book in the store was $5. The Vintage pieces also very expensive in terms of 100 or more dollars. Not my type of Charity store.
$70 for a bass drum pedal, $60 for a VHS player, absolutely ridiculous. Almost all of the op shops in Brisbane have completely lost their minds with greed. Items you have obtained for free, should be passed at a discount to those willing to look through your stores. Might as well go to vintage stores these days, at least you don’t have to waste your time searching for the decent stuff.
Beautiful items in store but over priced. Second hand shoes for $40. Childrens hats for $8 Nice store but sadly not realistic pricing.
The only point of difference compared to other op shop and other Vinnies was the price. $$$ Unaffordable. Staff were not very welcoming. Fairly basic thrift store , Variety on offer was average. Disappointing experience.
Son went there today to buy a second hand camera that was on display with some other cameras when ask the price they replied by saying the cameras are only for display not for sale Someone might have donated the cameras the person serving was rude think twice about donating to Vinnie's
Ridiculous prices cheap clothing, some items may even be cheaper brand new. Very strange staff that hover around you in the store as if your intending on stealing their $15 Kmart shirts. Some staff even looked like they were on meth. We were over charged a few bucks for our 3 items and felt uncomfortable correcting their mistake. This store is simply a money grab, please don’t go there.
I was quite disappointed with this op shop, prices are VERY HIGH for a mediocre quality clothes. I think the owner of the shop forget what op shop is and for whom its supposed to be. Most of the clothes not a even vintage just a usual clothes with a high price tag. One of the worst op shops from my experience. On the positive it was clean
I don't need to go to this store. Just read the reviews from the lowest up. That's what I do. I'm disgusted that prospective donors to the store allegedly are treated like this. Plus gosh! Daring to go in the store w the view to buy something, gee whiz that's a no no too
I felt insulted by elderly female staff. I bought a couple of books few days ago. She checked the books well taking time if there is sticky part if I peeled off the pricing labels because books without pricing tags are $2. It's very unpleasant! if you are very worried that much, you should put $2 pricing labels on every book!
Generally it is good value and plenty of interesting items including faux crystal, books, and fashion jewellery, plus usually a lot of well-presented clothing also, and some-times there are some clothes that people have donated and never have they been worn. So if you are on budget, then it is always a welcome find to discover good clothes at reasomable price. Only thing though that nowadays because they are franchise business and operated for profit, the volunteers or the franchisee will mark-up the prices to expensive given that it may have some name label behind it. So really, the Vinnies are not the real Thrift shop like as they are supposed to be. If it was realistic pricing to reflect for the lower socio-economic strata of this oppressed Society by draconian Australia government then it is always possible thry are awarded five stars.
