They can be bit rude. My dad got bitten by a spider in their clothes section, luckily it was nothing serious, but he reached up at got nipped. The staff were very quick to blast my dad about how there are no insects there, instead of actually rendering first aid. Took them forever to find a simple band aid. Lastly, people donate to these organizations in order for these guys to help others. I know they receive a lot of junk that's not worth stocking, but they also receive a lot of things worth buying. The in-store prices are sometimes more expensive than actual brand new item. Kinda odd? What gives people...

I'm still not completely sure why so many of these charities have to have abrupt, rude and poor English speaking Asians working their counters. Unless laws have changed, charities pay either very little or no rates at all, their staff are largely volunteers and the stuff they sell is donated for free, so overheads are at an all time minimum even though it may cost them dearly for rubbish removal of goods left illegally at their doors, so you'd think that these businesses would welcome some bartering to make money at any opportunity, but you'd be wrong. A few times I have bought goods there and each time I'm unable to bargain them down by even a lousy dollar. I'm not sure why their response is invariably a terse "NO DISCOW! YOU DON LIKE, YOU PUT BACK ON SHELF!" Yep, that's how they talk to you. I've seen and overheard the same abrasiveness given to others, so looking on the bright side, they are at least equally abrasive to everyone. Very charitable of them to be so openly aggressive while at the same time their cutting off their nose to spite their face. So if that's their attitude then basically I take their advice. If they'd rather give up $10 or $20 for the sake of only one or two dollars, then that's how it is. Eventually they may learn fair business practice and make some money on the second hand goods they're trying to sell. These guys aren't Myer, David Jones, Kmart or Target so the prices shouldn't be as set as they say.
