St Peters railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on the Illawarra line, serving the Sydney suburb of St Peters in New South Wales, Australia. It is served by Sydney Trains T3 Bankstown line services. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999, when I was there a steam train drove past St Peter's station is across the road from Sydney Park and metres away from the beginning of King Street Newtown
Neat little 4 platform station. Small shop that does Opal top ups, desk with limited hours, barely see the staff. Toilet that you need staff to open, no mobility disabled access to platforms.
A quaint railway station located in St Peters, relatively nearby Erskenville & Newtown. It currently serves the T8 line as an off-peak stop to Sydenham, but used to run T3 Bankstown line services.nnThe station is heritage listed and features a double island platform arrangement with lifts & opal poles. However, as of 2025, only platforms 1 & 2 are open: as platforms 3 & 4 are now unused due to the conversion of the T3 Bankstown line into metro.
This station is well serviced for trains heading into the city.nThere are Three MAJOR flaws however.n1. NO WHEELCHAIR ACCESS - it is a disgrace that the state of NSW has yet to complete making all its stations WHEELCHAIR and pram accessible. NEWTOWN Station is close by and though on a different line, is WHEELCHAIR accessible.n2. You can't get directly to the airport from here. You need to catch the train back to central and jump on the airport line from there.n3. You can't get directly to the Cronulla line from here. You need to catch a train to either Redfern or Sydenham in order to make that connection.
Work nearby always catch transport from here pretty good has a new lift good for helping other caring big things etc.
