Neat and tidy, great area.
This is my whenua this is were my grandfather and grandmother are buried
I was a little saddened at the lack of attendance towards the garden. The beautiful palm in the centre of it all stands so proud and tall with a Wed choked slightly bedraggled garden surrounding it's base. Just a wee TLC would restore the beauties that mother nature provides here.
A beatiful example of an old stone church. I could only view it from the outside. I would have liked to have been able to go inside without having to attend a church service so I could see the interior features, see any historic information etc. I like that even when closed you can take a brochure from the door which gives information about the church. From this I found that it is the oldest Selwyn style stone church in New Zealand. That info would be great displayed outside somewhere, along with other facts, so people could be more aware of it's historical and architectural significance. Maybe it is displayed but I couldn't see it on any signage.
My Family is Buried there "Wade"
Organising a funeral is a sad time and you expect that. However what I didn't expect was the way our family was treated upon first contact. A family member was already buried at the Cemetery but we were treated very coldly at this awful time. I get that St James is a private Cemetery but we did not deserve your treatment. If mum didnt have her heart set on her final resting place we would have taken her somewhere with a loving vibe. For goodness sake please do better.

Well cared for with the voluntary help of some family member and those who visit regularly to the up keep of immediate love ones great effort keep it up.
