What a wonderful establishment! We were recommended to visit this fine store by a friend whilst passing through Adelaide and what an impeccable recommendation that was. A paradise for the seeker of fresh produce. We were treated to a sumptuous array of fine fruits and even took the opportunity to sample a couple pizza pies on offer. We could not resist the smell of freshly baked doughty goodness. We were even treated to some light entertainment from the jolly fellow who runs the store who was busy filming some kind of advert, quite an animated character and interesting fellow one can describe as "colourful and boisterous". We thank you sir for a pleasant experience and wish you all the best with your establishment. My partner Herb and I will surely pass on our recommendation to any other travellers passing through your parts. Godspeed!
This place adds value to the community, the man running the show has a big heart and I've seen over the years how he has given to the less fortunate. Besides all that, great pizza's, better than most pizza shops, really good job guys. Good prices on fruit and veg, they got different sections than most big supermarkets and I think his produce tastes better imho. Bless.
Good variety, of fresh produce. Even freshly made Pizza. Though a few of the pizzas weren't bagged probably and had flies on them. When I pointed it out to a worker they were snippy and removed the products annoyed, as if it were my fault for his product loss and not the person who didn't pack the pizzas correctly. The shop layout was somewhat confusing, but I still managed to get what I needed and more, for easily a third, if not a fourth of the price of a big name supermarket. Better yet, it's all local.
Having followed you on Instagram for some time, I finally decided I best test out this place to see if it is all it's cracked up to be. So I made an online order in the early hours of this morning, before noon I had a knock at my door with my purchase. The gentleman who delivered my goods was perfectly polite and friendly. At the time my front gates were shut however the man advised me he did not want to leave the goods in the sun so he made his way onto my property. He offered to bring the delivery inside and to shut the gates behind him. Extra points for customer service by this man. Unpacking my purchase I was surprised at the amount I received for the price I paid. All the produce was in nice condition and looks amazing!! Aldi ain't got nothing on these guys
SHOCKING!!!!! Not sure how this place manages to stay afloat. I'm guessing there are a LOT of people out there with low standards when selecting food for their families! VERY DIRTY store. More rotten fruit and vegetables, than anything remotely considered edible especially outside in the large crates and tables. Sorely in need of a visit from the Health Department that's for sure!!! And definitely not cheap. More expensive than the Foodland just next door! THEY, at least, have some element of quality control! First and last visit! Gross! to the person who responded to my review. You're not doing yourself any favours by writing such nonsense. Instead of 'trolling' your honest reviewers, perhaps you should take some suggestions on board and take pride in your business, rather than selling garbage.
This is where fruit and vegetables go to DIE! Honestly, this shop is nothing but a place where the worst quality fruit and veg is palmed off before they begin decomposing!! I suspect some of the produce has been in Cold Storage for significant lengths of time. Sure, sometimes you might get a bargain i.e. enormous pumpkins for 29 cents a kilo, but much of the produce I've seen is clearly second/third grade - often over-ripe, wilted, bruised, damaged/squashed/moldy foods WELL past their "use-by" dates and not fit for consumption! Also, I've noticed that most other produce inside their store rather than the huge wooden crates and tables outside are more expensive than Coles, Woollies AND Foodland! Recently, sweet potato, zucchini, squash, cauliflower, celery, lemons, kiwi fruit - 50 cents to $2+ more than Foodland on Magill. I recently bought a kilo of garlic bulbs, not because they were cheap, but because they were large. Got them home, ready to roast - but when removing the loose skins before slicing in half ... almost choked in a cloud of powdery blue mold!!! 5 out of 8 were the same! A kilo of walnuts - $5.99 a kilo, but each one tasted awful and FAR from fresh - and quite possibly in cold storage because they couldn't sell them all last season!!! Unshelled nuts can be kept 1 to 2 years apparently. Good enough for a cake though, I guess. The price of their pizzas is unreasonable, for what they are a thin bit of dough with some tomato sauce on them. Domino's:- fresh, hot, and QUALITY CONTROLLED!!! The Italian pastries some with custard, etc left uncovered and NOT refrigerated for hours - ugh! How is this not an issue for anyone? How does this go unregulated by the health authorities? Good lord! Anyway, you've been warned! A quick note to the person who attacks and denigrates other negative reviewers - you're not doing yourself any favours with your responses! You come across like a right, royal clown! Why not put your energy into cleaning up your store and pricing things according to their quality?! and be open about the fact that you buy and sell poor quality seconds because of the profit margin ... so that customers at least know what they're getting themselves into! It's unethical to ramble on about how fresh your produce is when CLEARLY, much of it is NOT! I'm not saying it's ALL decomposing garbage, but you're not kidding anyone! Take a course in professional business practices too, while ur at it! In response to YOUR response: You are clearly lacking in reading comprehension skills and seem to think that labelling people as "trolls" adequately negates any feedback. If that's the extent of your intellect, perhaps I have wasted my time. Your products speak for themselves, and if anyone actually enjoys the garbage you try to palm off as "fresh", then there are more people with low standards out there than I originally thought."
Went in to the store a couple of days ago. Lots and lots of fresh produce at quite competitive prices. There is a well stocked deli on site. Lots of snacks and a couple of varieties of honey; one local and the other from the Flinders ranges. Happened to run into the owner who is quite active on social media spruiking his store and it's products. The store has an extensive range/variety of products to satisfy the needs of most customers. The staff that I had a chance to interact with were very friendly, informative and courteous. Definitely a place for most of your fruit, veg, dairy and grocery needs
Best fruit shop in Adelaide. Bought a $5 pizza to munch on the road trip pack to Sydney
Fresh produce, great variety, fair prices & friendly staff. So much better than the supermarkets! You know a place is good when it's often busy, there's always a number of customers in store. Easy parking on-site, in the side street or the shops next door and more than one register to get customers through quickly. Highly recommended.
Great products both fruit and veg and meat and pizza. Great prices and great service. Next time I'm over from Mildura will be calling in again..
