Inside the church, is an extraordinary place. With bigger than life size statues of saints. The church remains open the whole day for private prayer. With a daily Holy Mass Mon - Sat at 6.45AM. Sunday's Holy Mass: 10.30 am Italian, 12Noon & 6PM English. Every Tuesday, there's a Holy Mass at 7PM followed by novena st 7.30Pm with blessing of bread church goers can help themselves to the bread after the Novena and blessing of children after Mass. Contributions of bread is appreciated. Bring cash if you would like to light a candle to pray. Great place for time of silent prayer.
Amazing large statue of St Anthony holding the Infant Jesus out the front, and statue of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception near the carpark outside. The different Saints statue’s inside are incredible. Ceiling painting is beautiful. Tuesday night holds the mass and prayers offered for the intercession of St Anthony the Great! Looks like nothing special from outside, but wow, the interior! Magnificent statues, paintings and mosaics. A game during Mass is trying to identify the saints on the ceiling.
Beautiful shrine to this great saint. Caring and holy Capuchin Friars. The church was built in the 1960s by the Italian community and has magnificent marble interior. Beautiful artwork and statues. A huge mosaic of the Crucifixion behind the altar. Well worth a visit just to see it's open all day .... even better if you light a candle and say a prayer.
I love St Anthony’s in Hawthorn! It has been a peaceful refuge for me over the years. And the Capuchin Friars are kind and humble. St Anthony pray for me & my lived ones
Quite timing as we went. Had time to pray.
Lord god our mother Mary and the Holy Spirit has watched over my family being so close with me and my siblings baptised and my parents married here, the church is beautiful and especially convenient with my Italian speaking family and Italian Masses
