Have frequented this counter for many many years, food fresh and tasty. Of late, some of their staff are RUDE, highly impatient and non transparent with pricing. Will not be returning and encourage others to go elsewhere.
AIways fresh & reasonabIy priced sandwiches .. wide variety of options. Personally my favourite spot to eat at in the city, i feeI ripped off eating anywhere eIse. Impressed.
Staff was very rude and sneaky!! Have been buying sandwiches for long time. Sandwich cost $9.40 per sandwich and while ordering 6 sandwiches in total this staff wanted to charge $12.60 per sandwich as she was busy and considered as a catering. Last week when we ordered the same quantity the price was $9.60 per sandwich. So rude, disrespect and trying to take extra money for nothing!! The explanation from the manager was they have limited number of breads and which is why they are charging more money. What a JOKE!
Careful how you're being charged here. I've been taking my food/coffee from them almost daily besides the lockdown days of course for over a year. This morning one of the staff charged me extra for Aioli - something I've NEVER been charged for here. Secondly, she never told me she's charging extra. But being a regular I knew how much my brekkie roll is and asked her why the extra charge and that's when she told me. I understand the businesses are having a tough time but I'd like to know if the prices have gone up or if I'm being charged extra for something. I thought I'll mention this to the owner but I read the reviews here and I don't think it will help. Their cafe food is good even if I find the sandwiches a tad expensive but there are many a good options in AS. Probably the popularity of the place has made them complacent.
Value for money in the heart of the city. The quality and quantity is good too. There are multiple vegetation options as well. Good place to grab a quick bite.
I would like to share my experience here. I work in the building facing Australia Square and have been introduced to this cafe by my Italian manager. Ken, the owner of this cafe is a great gentleman. He knows how to keep his customers happy. Not only the coffee and food is great, the fast customer service is also noticeable. If you want to have a nice Italian coffee with a toasted banana bread for your breakfast on your way to work, this is the place for it.
I’ve been here a few times for lunch and had the pre-prepared sandwiches which are pretty good. I’ve had the roast beef sandwich which is very nice and the turkey sandwich which I’m not really a fan of - but what I am a fan of is the quick and simple service, and the option to have the sandwich fresh or toasted. The price is a bit steep but it may be due to city prices and the large shopfront they have.
Literally just got abused for taking my sandwich back because i found a bug in it as well as hair! I went there and calmly said to the owner, hey just bought this sandwich about 15 minutes ago and found a hair as well as a bug, He straight out said its cracked pepper not a bug i had to pick up the bug and show the wings on the bug and he is like yeah you're right it is a bug. he's like so do you want another sandwich in aggressive tone i said no could i please have refund. he just chucked the $10 at me did not apologise at all! and walked away. i have never been spoken to so rudely for something that was absolutely not my fault. I would not have written a bad review if he just apologised and gave me a refund instead he acted immaturely and aggressively.
Great coffee and the best takeaway avo toast on thick cut bread!
Lol they gave my order to a Julie. I ended waiting for long even though Julie ordered after I did.
