What has happened to spotlight? Where are the older staff, the mums, who know everything?nWe were chasing quite a few items and the young staff looked at us blankly, not interested in helping.nPlus the prices.....OMG... spotlight is now so expensive.nWhat was once a great place to get advice, help and good prices has just declined so much.nSenior management needs to really look at themselves. Spotlight was so much more than stuff! The older mums were amazing, they would help, provide advice and give ideas.nThe young staff just want their shift to end, plus no idea about craft and sewing.
Spotlight never disappoint, they always have everything I need for knitting, crochet, needlework, basic supply of painting watercolours and acrylic. Large variety of bedding linen, pillows, quilts, coverlets. Big selection of artificial flowers and greenery for office or home. The fabrics are wonderful from cotton, polyester, silk ,Satin etc. This year they have a lot of affordable decorative items and printed wall prints. What surprised me are the fascinators there’s so many this year as well as floral headbands. I can spend hours here.
I like the choice and variety of Spotlight but just be careful of the price tickets. Big lettering, careful placement and small fine-print can mean you get a surprise at the checkout. Sometimes the product referred to on the price sign is not the product behind it.
No staff to ask on the floor, but I figured out the sizing of curtains and tha many are sold as singles and after searching for a few minutes found a well priced, suitable sale item. Check out was friendly and fast.
I bought sheets from Spotlight about 3 weeks ago and they have ripped! They are supposed to be the “2000” thread count ones, they weren’t cheap. The store is unwilling to exchange them as I don’t have the original packaging. Who would keep original packaging? You wouldn’t assume that your sheets are going to rip.nAnyway, I wouldn’t recommend this store, nor would I recommend buying sheets from them.
