Today I went to Spotlight Birkenhead Pt to buy some fabric, but it was a disappointing experience.nnFirstly, since it was my first time buying fabric to make a dress for my child, I asked the staff how much length I would need. The staff handed me a measuring tape and told me to measure it myself. I saw 30 and told the staff 30, so they cut 30 cm for me—which was clearly too short. It is actually 30 inches. Then, I had to ask the staff to cut another 50 cm for me.nnSecondly, the staff simply ripped the fabric instead of cutting it properly, which caused the edges to fray badly.nnIt was truly a disappointing shopping experience.
Love this store at Birkenhead Point. It’s chock a block full of great stuff- sometimes it’s so full it’s hard to navigate the aisles. I love the fabric and yarn sections. The staff there are amazing. Special mention to Angela and Stav. Both so helpful that I have to give them a shoutout.
Birkenhead Spotlight is not for serious crafters. Its chock full of household junk, but its embroidery threads are mostly empty, it stocks no coton perle, and its yarn collection is rarely above $2 shop quality.
This isn't about Spotlight .I could see it but couldn't get to it. No this is a review of Birkenhead pointnnIn the old days it was easier to get around. Try as I might I couldn't navigate the place. No maps, no directions. Now I am disabled so it makes it even harder. I really wanted to get to Kathmandu and that section but I was blocked at every attemptnnI managed to get to the food court. Cokes is still there but the wonderful greengrocers are not. Well at least I got some shopping done!nnIf you are young and fit, or older and fit go for it. I think other centres are more suitable if not
