Unfortunately, due to a large number of jobs, it took 9 weeks through this company to get my car back. The rude telephonists had no idea of any progress, and when told I would receive a call after 6pm for an update, the call would not occur. After twice being called and told that the car was being put back together, and would be ready the next Tuesday, Tuesday after Easter, and Tuesday after Anzac Day, 2021, I finally received the vehicle on the Thursday after Anzac Day. Lack of communication and updates on progress is severely lacking. After meeting the Owner Bill Sowerby, a sprightly 77yr old, it became obvious that his employees are the problem. He tries to run the company with an iron fist, yet his advanced years are unfortunately allowing customer service down. Nothing against Bill, or the quality of the work performed, yet receiving calls 3 weeks apart saying the job is done, while waiting almost another month with next to no progress information, and no returned calls at different stages, is very disappointing.
Outstanding service. I was reluctant to take my BMW to a shop in a town I was not familiar with. The attention to detail is second to none. I asked to have a scratch repaired on the left front. These guys resprayed my entire front end! I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended.
Very impressed with both workmanship and attitude of Sowerby's staff. Car beautifully repaired, competent staff. I even met the owner, he was genuinely concerned to see that customers were happy. I have used two other panel shops in Toowoomba, one I definitely would not recommend. But Sowerby's were faultless.
Car was taken in to fix damage along right hand side of car the car. Picked up the car 10 days later after as stated by their admin staff. I was shocked to see they cracked my windshield. They also advised me that the speaker in the drivers door needed to be replaced... no reason as to why was given. They then stated I had to come in another day and leave my car for another hours to fix the speaker. I then questioned why they replaced the left hand side rim when all the damage was on the right hand side. They had no reply for that question. All in all a very negative experience, the insurance company has advised me to take the vehicle and get all the repairs independently checked and reviewed. Will not be going back.
Over inflated quotes compared to other repair companies, also tried to pressure me into making an insurance claim so they can charge premium. Front counter staff and quote staff condescending and impatient and can’t even smile. It was 50% cheaper for me to just buy a new bumper and install myself.
These guys are absolutely brilliant. The parts for my car were late coming and it was getting closer to the day I had to leave for a wedding - I also had to fit a service in before I left in what was a nightmare week at work. Bill Sowerby was constantly in touch, and he and his team worked with the service team at Wippells to change the service days and times, dropped the car over to Wippells and picked it up to take back to Sowerby's workshop. Bill gave me his mobile number in case I had any problems. I got the car back looking like new inside and out. I'd give them a 6 if that was an option. The tow truck driver was also a star.
