The place was a dump Well organized and cleaner than Lake Horowhenua. Helpful staff and kindly had a treat for our dogs. My favorite dump so far. Highly recommend
We recycle a lot here and it's exciting to see the PVC plastic is now accepted!! Awesome to see industry working toward a better option than landfill.nnJust need pallet strapping/banding to be recycled and we can recycle all our packaging.
Still the greatest place ever to drop off surplus household items!nnBut looking back, in 2018 when I discovered this place if you had asked me to rate it with only 5 stars, I would have said 5 stars is just not enough, because the recycling shop is just so great! Generous and friendly staff, cheap materials and bargains galore. On a summers day it was basically like a lolly scramble for adults.nnBecause they no longer have the main scrap metal drop off at the recycling center, surplus useful things likely now go into landfill instead of the resale store, which is much quieter.nnI love to tinker and loved the metal scrap and old electrical and mechanical gadgetry that I found in the Scrap Metal bay and could buy cheaply to make things, or repair and reuse. Some of the greatest tools in my collection came from here! In my experience people more often throw things out because they got a new one or having a clear out, not because its broken. e.g. An electric motor with a bad bearing can last for another 50 years with some maintenance, and I have found and repaired many of these over the years. For people on a tight budget, these items are still very useful. Keeping it out of landfill and in use is admirable IMO.nnThey now have a scrap metal skip next to the old bay, worth a look. It would be great of they reestablished the big scrap metal bay again. Paradise to a maker.
Yep usual place for rubbish. Wee resell shop with ok reusable items.
Seems really well organised and easy to use, but best of all the staff are so friendly. The blond lady in the stop is always so nice and helpful, and the prices so reasonable. And the ladies in the kiosks are great, and almost always say hi to my dogs. A+
