Have watched movies a few times here over the years. Nice big foyer. Arcade with lots of different games to have fun with. Self serve ticketing or with cashier at the fully stocked candy bar with popcorn, drinks, snacks. Cafe upstairs was not open. The only downer here for me were having no seating in the foyer at all. There is some upstairs once you've shown your ticket at the booth before going to your cinema. Toilets up and downstairs. Staff are helpful, friendly and willing to answer questions...I inquired about premium and standard prices that were showing on their TV. A young make staff explained that premium was for Cinema 5 which must be a more comfortable cinema than the others. We watched How to please a Woman in Cinema 4 on Saturday and found the seating comfy and the movie enjoyable. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again when in town.
Cheap tickets $8.50 each at a student rate at 3pm on a Saturday. It’s a bit old fashioned and the leather flip chairs aren’t the most comfortable. However, for the price it’s usually fairly clean and enjoyable so long as you don’t go to a busy screening.
I went to cinema no 3 which is of medium size. Not many people watching the show 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' which starts at 8.40pm. Parking is free for 4hrs for cinema goers. You can validate the carpark ticket after your show. Quite clean and they do have 2 different shops selling popcorn and drink, one in the ground floor, which is still open when we went at 8.30pm and another on 1st level already closed. The cinema looks very old though.
The workers are consistently kind and helpful. Although the state of the cinema has definitely seen better days. One must be aware that customers are the primary reason for drinks/popcorn being split everywhere, but it seems like there is rarely any staff to clean. Unfortunately every time I go the women's toilets are often dirty, toilet paper is empty and the toilets are blocked. It would be nice to have more staff on duty during peak or popular movie showings to help with the upkeep, considering when it is quiet the complex does look lovely and remains clean.
Sat down for a 4K session of Avatar: The Way of Water. Outstanding picture quality. Seats could do with upgrading—constant adjustments throughout the 3-hour-long movie. Still, with all that said, the movie ticket was cheap, popcorn and soft drink were insanely cheaper than competitors, and the picture quality was brilliant. I would gladly go back again.
Family friendly decent prices, affordable for everyone. So Grateful I can afford to come here to the movies I would go to any other cinema too dear. Love it. Keep up the good work Leo and family. Teresa Bird
If you are looking for the biggest cinema screen in Brisbane then cinema 5 at Cineplex Southbank is the place to go Using the old IMAX theatre to show new releases is a brilliant idea, and the most recent movie I experienced here was Avatar: The Way Of Water A real feast for the senses to have almost your entire field of view filled with crisp, laser projected films And the best part it only costs $9.50 per session - so you could say it's the biggest screen experience for the lowest cost in the city
Great cinema right in the middle of SouthBank. Great value for money and always friendly staff. The owner/manager is really nice. Parking can be a bit of a problem. Underneath the cinema you can get 4 hours which is great if you want to catch a bite to eat, have a wonderful before or after the movie. If you can't get parking under the cinema, you can park in SW1 for a reduced rate if you get the parking validated at the cinema. You just have had to have watched a movie in its entirety. Popcorn quality can be a but hit and miss, make sure to ask for fresh.
Best Cinema in Brisbane, if you want true immersion try out Cinema 5, thats their main Cinema that van seat over 400 people. You wont be disappointed with the quality. Or if your after a more quiet viewing, trying one of the other Cinemas in the morning on a week day will practically leave you with a private viewing. Then there's the price, lets just say for a single person you could see most of the movies with one ticket price at event, or it makes the family Cinema really affordable which is what we all need right now.
I’ve come here for years and this is a pretty good cinema. When the café upstairs is open it’s the best. Little arcade with good skill tester machines, Cheep tickets and good deals in the snack bar. Occasionally issues with being not politely asked for some type of ID. Like it wouldn’t be a issue if the staff weren’t so rude about it. Still a good movie cinema
