One thing we parents are rightfully concerned about is the quality of education provided for our children. In recent years a cult has spread through Australian and American educational institutions, and that cult teaches anti-science nonsense regarding magical infinite genders and such. This is not the only reason why Australian schools and universities are ranking lower every year against their counterparts in other countries, but it is a contributing factor. When I queried Somerset regarding whether they teach such nonsense to students, nobody could be bothered replying. They won't even respond to customers regarding what they teach the children of those customers. They don't want your money. Take your money elsewhere, to the superior schools in Malaysia, Singapore, etc.
My wife and I came here on September 23, 2018 to support our son who was competing in the Kendo sport September 22-23, 2018. It has a great campus and judging from the choice of the venue, I believe it has a slant on sports. Without using Uber, our getting there and returning could be difficult!
Loved my 4 years here! Definitely a great school :D Been to 5 schools before Somerset and it is one of the highest on my charts. Great teachers who care, good sporting facilities, good drama/musical facilities, free good quality gym, and lots of space! Proud to be a student here
Came to drop off my nieces lunchbox and asked an Italian looking lady with brown hair where the senior reception was and she drop kicked my dog. Asked my niece and she said she was head of sports department, didn’t get her name but very unprofessional.
So I am highly disappointed in this school. My friends would say how good it is and how much of a reputation they have but i was driving down past the campus where the rugby fields are and i saw a bunch of students maybe at the age of 15- 16 walking out bushes, in their school uniform smoking cigarettes and holding some sort of bottle.
Im going to be moving to this school soon : Ive heard they have an excellent programme for Music and Drama! - from all the reviews I have seen and heard of this college I believe I will have a good time there.
In all due respect Mr Finocchiaro, your son was the actual bully and continued to disrespect the students in his year who were so called by him 'poor'. This school, built on humble farmlands is a thoroughly enjoyable experience with the learning of life skills implemented in the criteria age appropriate. The staff are always striving to get the best out of students pushing them academically and in the physical education. Note: Your use of ellipsis was incorrect and you failed to type it correctly. It is clear to me that your review was biased
This college is overrated for even 1 Star. They treat their staff appallingly, verbal and mental bullying, non payment of wages. Unreasonable and unrealistic working conditions imposed on staff . Higher grade staff have been able to dictate what hours they work so they can go out drinking with there mates at night instead of actually working the hours that they were originally employed to do for the smooth running of their dept. They do not consider the H&S of staff having to work alone at night or early morning on the weekends.
The school has rude students who are not supportive towards visiting schools, using bad sportsman ship. The teachers are verbally abusive and there are terrible facilities. Glad I moved.
Back in 8th grade, when I had Mrs. Sauer as the IAS teacher, I was always insulted "you put no effort into this assignment" for when I spent many hours and even days on and got poor grades for no reason. But other than that, pretty good school.
