Went for a couple dining. In contrary to images portrayed the places if super tiny. Can feel a strong “wok hay”. We ordered all mild spice Drunken noodles, Fried rice, Satay chicken, Red curry chicken and plain rice this never came though. Order took 45 minutes, would have been still a 5 star rating if not for the food. I have had real Thai food from Thailand. Everything was sweet, super umami and salty. Couldn’t feel the taste of any meet. Satay chicken was basically steamed chicken and veges with a sprinkle satay sauce. We eat big, but with this amount of salt and having to sleep for worth without needing to drink water alright, had to leave after few nibbles. Not recommended! Wasted $90. Staff was nice! I’d give them that. This star is for you guys.
Husband and I went to dinner here to meet our friend, and it was absolutely incredible. Every single thing we ordered was fantastic! We were blown away by the delightful service and ambience. Every dish was made to perfection and there wasn’t one that we didn’t love!! Some of our favorites were the soft crab, tropical pineapple fried rice, boneless fried chicken, and duck salads. They surprised us with some of their top picks. Love the family style portion sharing because we got to try a little bit of everything! We were sat on upstate. I was worried about the temperature and the service at first, BUT everything came out in a timely manner by our server and we felt so special dining at here. Overall, such an exquisite, hip, and fun restaurant! Definitely coming back and would highly recommend to anyone in Adelaide!!!!
Food wise - great for the price and it tasted amazing however we ordered our food and we didn't receive it for almost 40 minutes after we ordered - now I am assuming this is because we ordered the "Freaking hot" when it came to spice and the bottom floor of the restaurant was full of customers. Ours was cooked once the bottom floor was cleared of customers and I walked through through the area to use the bathroom and when I say you can taste the air... You are legit tasting the spice haha it was great though. All in all while the waiting was a little frustrating because we were hungry and had been there for almost 2 hours by that point it was still a great experience and the staff were so friendly. It's a great little hidden gem.
Very small shop with more seatings upstairs. Bit run down and old. The soft shell crab was really good. Crispy. Yellow curry was very small with little meat in it. Pad Thai chicken tasted yummy. Basil stir fry has more vegetables than meat portion. Overall, food is alright, but not amazing. Staff was not very attentive. Had to grab menus ourselves and he didn't know to take away empty plates that have been left on the side of the table.
We ate downstairs. Both the drinks and our meals came out separately. The Pad Thai was almost gone by the time the chicken stay stri fry came into. Pad thai was very tasty.
They accommodated my request for less oil for my stir fried beef with vegetables. Though I forgot to request for less salt, the dish turned out to be very flavourful and balanced. The phad thai was equally delicious, with the right amount of spice and sweetness, without tasting overly oily. Their version of the mango sticky rice with coconut milk was better than what we have tried in other Thai restaurants. The 2-seater area by the aisle was a little narrow. We did have to wait a while for the dessert. Maybe we went at a busy time for them or should have ordered it earlier for it to be served after the main course. Service was friendly and polite. Worth the trip and would return.
My friend and I decided on Thai for dinner and went out of our way to visit Social Street S2 on Hutt St. They did not disappoint. The salt and pepper softshell crab entrée was crisp and had the right amount of saltiness. We tried the pork mince moo sab and spicy pad thai beef. The pork dish is a new taste to my Asian palate and would love to order this again. My friend agreed with me. The pad thai was more sweet than spicy, had only a touch of sourness I prefer more and we think this caters to a more Western palate. Overall, dishes were cooked well, the meat in the dishes were tasty and tender, and I'd come back to try more dishes.
The duck salad was a bit disappointing as the duck was overcooked and a bit dry. The portion size for the salad was also a bit small for the price. The yellow curry was good though, but nothing fantastic about it.
Cosy set restaurant with an upstairs area. We enjoyed 2 meals- barramundi and drunken noodles. They were beautiful presented, delicious well balanced flavours and excellent value. Service was friendly, although our meals did not come out at the same time. Happy to revisit.
Came as recommended by friends and had an amazing experience. The Pad Thai was so good, super filling, decent price, delicious. Will be back next I'm in Adelaide.Food: 5/5
