Delicious food! Lots of choices, they have very polite staff. We are few months now in Ryde area and we only came to know the restaurant, they need to advertise more as their food are superb! Menu and prices are decent / reasonable. We will definitely back! 5*****
The fried chicken is very good. Reasonably good buffet in a nice if somewhat cramped environment. Modern looking decor and friendly service but they don't have enough waitstaff. They gave us free jugs of the mocktail, and were happy with any food requests, and changing the hotplate. We got the premium buffet, the sashimi was quite nice, although it wasn't the absolute freshest sashimi I've ever had, it was quite good. Salmon, Kingfish and tuna were on offer. Unfortunately I just don't think the meat is real Wagyu beef, it is not the melt in your mouth texture of the really good stuff. Some of the cuts were downright chewy. There is a lot of variety of other foods available in the buffet including a lot of fried stuff, which is quite good if you can grab it while it's fresh. For a "premium" experience, it is a little bit disappointing. Try to get a seat in the outside section if you can, as it seems a lot nicer and roomier there.
Nice place to have a Korean food, great atmosphere, good price by the quality, haven’t tried the barbecue, but the stew was awesome, good service, and great beer selection, maybe they could work a little bit more on the desserts, nothing special about it.
I used delivery service late dinner . It is pork back bone hotpot . Awesome . It comes with 2 side dishes pasta salad and kimchi . I found a big pork bone about 5-6 pieces . In Korea , we are easy to delivery like this big soup though very late night . But. in Australia , it is usually not easy .. . So I like the Smokkim food . You guys who visited restaurant maybe know that smokkim is a very modern and sophisticated restaurant compared to another Korean restaurant . Good
Edit; 28/11/2020 - Smokkim Top Ryde is no more, as is Smokkim Rhodes. Good night sweet Prince......now cracks a noble restaurant ------------------------ Excellent food, great staff and just down right great food. Did I mention it was tasty? It was down right great. Smokkim started at Rhodes but that store closed this week Sep 2020 and this the best Korean BBQ in Sydney is now at Top Ryde. It's well worth the effort. Great food, good drinks, the price is excellent as are the lunch specials.
Not a bad place for Korean in top Ryde. Haven’t done the bbq yet but the hotpot and fried chicken was quite generous and delicious. Also the side dishes really helped with your hunger whilst you waited for the main course. We also ordered some mocktails since I was driving which was quite delicious
Lunch BBQ deal. $25 per person. Side dish can be refilled as well. Love this place.
We spent $39 each person for the standard buffet, which included so called premium quality wagyu sirloin, and yet we had the worst dining experience ever. Every single piece of beef in the plate was tough like rubber, and my gum was even bruised trying to cut and chew the "premium wagyu". They never changed the barbeque rack even once in the whole time. If this was your first time with Korean BBQ, don't forgo your faith, cuz it's simply the extreme case ever, and every one else will be much better.
Be careful of what you eat here. Had lunch with my parents on 04/01/2019. Ordered the premium Wagyu Platter for BBQ. Half way through the lunch, I have noticed a few pieces of the meat that got cooked were actually off. Then i had to try to smell each piece of the meat and whatever left in the photos are off. Try to speak to the manager, the manager said:" the meat is supposed to smell and taste like that because they put some sort of water to marinate it". No offer of replacing the meat or to do anything, they just left it like that and all of the staff walked away. I spent $205 for the lunch between three people which is not a great deal, however the food I got was totally devastating. I have been to this restaurant at least 5 times previously and ordered the same dishes before, none of the platters had a similar or same smell. I will pass this information to relevant local food authorities and anyone that had the same problem or situation, please contact me.
Korean BBQ beef was tender and pork schnitzel was cunchy and fresh! Services was great too! Portions also a lot for us.
