Rydges Airport used to have a halfprice special lunch steak and salad no longer now. Chicken schnitzel even though super delicious and quite large is about $30 beers $14 but atmosphere relaxing so I guess you pay for that.
I regrettably decided to ignore the reviews on this one, since it looked so nice. It isn’t. I got the margarita pizza, and while the toppings were nice enough, the crust was abysmal. It was more of a tortilla than a pizza crust. Better to just order dominos or Pizza Hut if you’re going for pizza.
Service was 5 stars for a late order of drinks and food....food however was 3 stars. Bland and simple try too hard to be fancy parmy was $27 AUD without chips. It's partially my fault for not seeing said chips as their own item. I ate the parmy for sure but certainly wasn't worth the $27 AUD.
Unbelievably disappointing. Came yesterday for pizzas and the place was empty - only 1 other table. The 2 pizzas and bowl of fries took SO LONG, for it to come out cold and stale. We asked for no mushrooms on both pizzas and of course they came loaded with mushrooms. This morning I gave them a chance to redeem themselves by ordering coffees. After waiting at least 10 min they gave us smalls when I made it clear I wanted the larger size. Don’t even waste your time coming here they are useless. Not to mention they are STUPIDLY expensive.
If you're staying at Ridges, ready to travel, then Smithy's bar is a convenient option. They have a reasonable but limited selection of dishes to choose from & plenty of drink options. The bar staff weren't particularly friendly, often ignoring customers, seemingly deliberately. Otherwise the food was fine
Not a great experience at Smithy’s Bar. We stayed the night at Rydges average hotel but extremely close to departure to catch an international flight. Three of the things we wanted to order were not available due to a VERY “limited menu”. The lady who took our order was very rude about said LIMITED menu said as she rammed her finger down on the counter. The food took a while to come out. We asked for some Mayo or ketchup for all the fries which came out dry fries with everything, which never came so we resorted to rubbing said fries on a squeezed lemon to get some flavour/moisture.
Had coffee and breakfast here after a one night stay following a flight. Fairly pricey for what you get, but I guess it's Sydney airport. The staff were friendly and the food not bad. Coffee was okay too. A hard place to review as nothing really comparable close by, other than airport cafes.
Their customer service was so fab, the barista guy brought a huge smile to my face. And the coffee was amazing!
Woefully understaffed. Felt more like a McDonalds than a hotel bar. People sitting at the bar would literally have to get up and line up in front of the register where the bartender stood the entire time I was there. The food was the same as what you'll get in the airport proper. I hate the QR ordering systems but this place would benefit from one.
Moroccan chicken pizza was very nice however finding some chicken was a challenge
