The staff at SASH are wonderful. Our beloved Ruby was being taken care of by Dr Courtney Ludwig for an autoimmune disease and was doing very well. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago, Ruby presented with kidney failure and was admitted to hospital. She received the best care and treatment any pet owner could want. Not only was she treated with superior professional knowledge, but she was also, above all, treated with dignity and love. During Ruby's stay in hospital, I was kept informed regularly of her condition and advised accordingly. All the vets, nurses and administration staff were always mindful of our feelings and the whole process of euthanizing Ruby was carried out with dignity and respect. We were able to spend as much time as we wished with her before she passed away. Thank you to everyone at SASH for taking care of our Ruby when she needed it most.
SASH is extremely professional & knowledgeable. After just losing a dog for no good reason at a horrible vet a couple of weeks ago when they asked to have her overnight. We have been having a lot of trouble trusting who to get care from & leaving our youngest somewhere without us. Just from a consult with Dr Richard & the small interactions we had with the door greeter & the nurse that carried our dog out of the car as he is unable to walk, it made me feel confident that we could trust the team at SASH to give him the best care & that he would be safe staying there for scans that day & for his up coming surgery where he will be spending a few days there. It's not always just about the best medical care for the animals, but also how they look after the owners to make them feel comfortable as well. Well worth the 10 hour round trip to be here & the weeks of staying here in the mean time, to have the piece of mind that he is getting the best care he could get,
The team at SASH are just wonderful and so kind, I really recommend them. The Avian team, including Dr Natasha, Dr Olivia, all the nurses and the entire emergency team took such beautiful care of my Sebastian. They were so incredibly kind to me when it became clear he unfortunately wasn’t going to make it. I absolutely recommend them for your birds and all loved pets as the entire team are so caring. I’ve had some really sad experiences with vets before and can absolutely confirm the SASH team go above and beyond to look after for your pets and do everything they can for them.
Our 7 yr old miniature schnauzer required a preventative gallbladder removal and Dr Tristram Bennett was so clear and thorough with his explanations. His pre and post operative care was second to none. When our doggy was coming out of surgery we discovered a PDA heart murmur in our 12 week old puppy and flagged it with Dr Tristram, who spoke to Dr Phil Brain who managed to find the time given it was time critical to slot us in for a consult when we collected our dog post surgery. Dr. Tristram was luckily able to slot us in for surgery the next day due to another PDA being performed the same day. Dr Phil Brain was extremely helpful and clear with explaining what it was, what the risks were and how to fix it. Dr Tristram Bennett was so kind. His pre and post surgery communication was second to none. His care and nature dealing with not only our 7yr old Miniature Schnauzer but also our 12 week old miniature schnauzer put them and us at ease! Would highly recommend the whole team, the nurses, the reception team who deal with the claims for insurance, the internal medicine team all of the team we dealt with were amazing, loved and doted on our puppies throughout their stay. We couldn’t be more happy with their results. Because of their size we were recommended to put them in tshirts, and it was the best recommendation. They have left all their wounds alone, they have been in good spirits with an appropriate amount of pain relief. Thank you to the team! We really appreciate you!
I chose to take my pet rat to the exotic vet that they have at SASH, I saw Dr Melinda. The nurses, Vet and other staff were the most wonderful and caring people to go through this experience with. My rat was a senior rat and very sick and it was my time to say goodbye to him. They gave him the best care and were super up front about my options. They let me have all the time I could with him and even let me wait in a consult room for my mum who wanted to come say goodbye with me. They were so lovely and caring as I was such a mess, I loved my rat so so much. They let me sit with him through the whole process and even helped me organise the cremation, as well as offering to make a card with a paw print for me. They let me have all the time I needed to recover and let me take take their tissue box home which I used up in the car. I would definitely take any future pets of mine here.
The staff at SASH are outstanding. Our beloved cat Mauii presented today in critical condition with visible organ failure, pneumonia and a combination of other extremely serious and cascading ailments. We have some limited veterinarian experience and observed that the team who attended Mauii were accurate in all their diagnosis, despite having no access to his complicated history at the time. Due to the nature of his condition, his advanced age and his considerable discomfort, it was necessary to euthanize Mauii, as the seriousness of his condition left no practical alternative. The Doctor we spoke with was skilled and helpful. His advice and demeanor was welcome and valued for such a difficult moment. The process was well handled by all the staff we spoke with, including reception and triage staff. The SASH reception facility was clean, well equipped with limited onsite parking - and a snack dispenser & coffee machine for those waiting. We would be confident bringing our other pets in for emergency treatment here in future should it be necessary. SASH also arranged for the collection and cremation of our feline companion's remains via 'Petrest'. Many thanks.
Huge thank you for Dr Sophia and all nurses who took care of and saved my cat Gimli. I was so worried about him not only because he’s quite sick but also he is easily get stressed to unknown environment and people. But Dr Sophia gave me update on daily basis, I felt much relieved after talking to her as she is such caring and knowledgeable doctor. After 4 nights at SASH my baby finally able to go back home and his situation is getting much better! Thanks again!
SASH have saved my beautiful heart failure dog on two occasions now, I can't thank their emergency, ICU and medicine departments enough! Last visit he spent nearly a whole day in an oxygen cage and may not have made it without SASH's facilities in their ICU department. Lupin is on borrowed time now but we get to make the most of every day thanks to SASH's gold standard patient care. Loved seeing some fear free handling techniques applied when the vets and nurses were caring for my baby - something that is very important to myself and my regular vet and of course, my anxious pets. Reception are always very professional and caring too. Worth every penny, especially as they're open when most vets are closed. Wouldn't take my babies anywhere else for an emergency or specialist care. My puppy Kira is also coming in for a special ophthalmology surgery soon too and I'm sure it will be an equally pleasant experience.
We travelled up from Canberra and Kate Robertson and the interns were friendly and explained our dog's condition well. Fortunately, they were able to complete the 20 minute procedure while we were there which made it stress free. Our local vet recommended SASH and I am glad we took the advice.
