Great prices and helpful over the phone. I had to queue to get my vehicle into their yard, so it must be popular as the staff were dealing with customers quickly.
Helpful hadn't got what I wanted but offered a replacement that did the job maybe better than first choice

Since this place has been taken over by SIG it's really gone down in the rankings and prices have gone through the roof as SIG is probably the UK's most expensive place to go to buy roofing materials from. Also this place never has what you want in stock anymore, typical for an SIG owned store.

When I first arrived I found straight forward, friendly and direct service. Got the recommended tiles and they helped me load it in car. Unfortunately the salesperson specified the wrong tiles which is too wide for replacing my broken ones.

They're polite enough but not as thoughtful as they could be. Before I went there today, I called them to ask how much their roof slates where yesterday. They said that there were 2 types, natural slate or man made. I needed natural so they quoted me £1.80 a slate. I've gone in there today and they then told me that there were 2 different sizes that they did. They showed me the size that I needed in the storage area and then told me that they were £4.50 a slate. I asked them why the quote has changed from what I was told on the phone yesterday and they told me that they'd quoted me for the smaller ones ‍. But I hadn't specified that I wanted their smaller ones. So they'd defaulted the quote to the smaller ones without finding out what size the slates I was looking for were. And the total cost for the slates I needed were considerably more than was quoted on the phone. This reminds me a bit of a bait and switch situation. Not good. So I had intentions of paying a certain price for my roof slates but it had more than doubled when I got there and I wasn't prepared to pay that. So I wasted my time going there because of the lack of attention to detail on the phone. Also the 'You can only come into the sales desk when you park your car in our car park' rule is silly. Especially as its quite a small space to park in and considering I nearly accidentally reversed into a truck that had just entered the car park where the entrance was behind me. Too risky for customer parking in my opinion. I'll be going to TJ Matthews in Bilston next time!
Absolutely awful service I'm a Carpenter I don't do much roofing , had a job come in needed 1500 tiles Went in wanted to have a look a the tiles in stock so I could make a decision Was barked at by a yard assistant who said " we got no tiles mate and get out the shop only 2 allowed in at a time " I asked if he could help he said again we got no tiles mate I asked the guy on the counter if he could help he totally blanked me I went to EH smiths in Cannock wood and they could not have been more helpful Even did me a trade discount even though I haven't an account there I'll never go to SM Roofing supplies again I've been in this industry 34 years and I have never been treated like that at any merchant ever !
Once again I come across one of S.M 'couldn't care less' drivers....pulled out on me from their yard then as I drove behind them not indicating at several turnings ...one coming off the A5 onto Washbrooke lane with traffic travelling at national speed limit....just ignorant and rude....and above all a danger on the road!....they finished their journey at Norton hall meadow...new housing development I hope the roofs are better than there driving
