The Skybus is an airport bus service operator. The SkyBus operates express bus services from the airport to Southern Cross railway station. At Melbourne Airport, SkyBus stops for pick up and drop off at Terminals 1 and 3, and also picks up at Terminal 4. The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. SkyBus is not covered under the Myki ticketing system.
A faultlessly designed system. Check-in is slick, the buses are cool & comfortable, the luggage racks work perfectly an odd thing to compliment but lots of others don’t, airport locations are convenient. Love this service. The signs at Southern Cross could be a little clearer & they should tell people that there’s ticket machines down the walkway.
We took the Skybus from Melbourne City to Melbourne airport on 27th April 2023 at 6:45. The average time was announced 22 minutes, Google Map gave the estimated time about 34 minutes. However, it took us 1h 12minutes to get to the airport. We missed our plane. Could anyone explain why it took so long?
Disgusting customer service. Specifically, staff member by the name Dimo. Very unpolite, mean and unprofessional, poor communication. The bus almost left with just half of my family while she asked them to get something outside, when thy returned it turned out that she loaded too many people on the bus so we had to leave.
Have used Sky Bus a few times to travel between Melbourne Airport and CBD and it’s a fantastic service at reasonable prices. Good views along the way. The double deck bus has a dedicated space for bags. The service was quick, a 30 minute ride to the city or back. I’ll highly recommend it when in Melbourne. Better value than ride-share or taxi.
Was the day after the Grand Prix, so queues out of the building and along Spencer St. Many people decided to take Uber rather than wait 30mins in the queue. Need way more double decker buses or better still a train.
Deserve even more than 5 stars. Journey from Melbourne International airport to the City, the guy saw I had 2 luggage and automatically helped load and unload. The return trip the guy also helped with all my luggage. I wasn't expecting any assistance however they did this without asking. I didn't get the first guys name but the second guy was Sotie and he helped all passengers, not just me. He was super friendly and it seemed he really enjoyed his job and helping passengers. He is an absolute asset to Skybus. I hope I get him again on my next trip next year New Zealander
$22 to be crammed on a bus with no luggage space. Buses are so full that even though it is advertised as 10 minute intervals, you need to wait until the 3rd bus 30 mins to take another 30 mins to go to the city so you can spend another 30 mins getting home. Just take an uber.
Fantastic service! Cheapest quickest most timely & efficient method of transit from Tullamarine to Southern Cross Bus & Train depot in Melbourne. Easy to find pickup points, quick & efficient kiosks, easy to buy a ticket, scan and get on board quickly. Bus drivers are super helpful - lifting bags giving directions bending over backwards to help but they are on a schedule. Bad thing is lack of seats & room to move and no view downstairs for older people or people with disabilities. Younger fitter people chuck their bags in the rack and leap up the stairs and enjoy the view..older people struggle to get their bags in the rack, avoid getting run over by people using the stairs, then fight it out for the 4 squishy sideways seats or step up the big step to 6-8 more comfortable seats up the back but don't be slow!! Its only half an hour to Southern Cross so you can put up with it. Allow me to suggest that you get a digital copy of your return ticket in case you lose the paper one 5 minutes after you get on the bus!!
5 star service. Our driver Daniel was excellent. He was attentive, friendly and made sure we knew where we were going when we got off at the airport. Over beyond the call of duty; a rare thing these days!
