Story

Sitar Albion reminds us of an Indian laughing Buddha. Customers come here for a hearty Indian meal and a dose of mysterious India and walk away jeering only to return the next day for more. Sitar Albion holds a loyal following that no other Indian restaurant commands. A massive makeover in 2005 made it clear that the Sitar group of restaurants was here to stay and to date Sitar Albion continues to be our most prized behemoth.

Sitar Albion was the first and original Sitar Restaurant opening way back in 1990. Since its humble beginnings the restaurant has expanded several times and today seats over three hundred with a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Traditional Indian décor and antiquities are complemented by original artworks throughout.

Looking for a place to eat between Christmas and NYE, we weren’t sure we felt like Indian, but Sitar was one of the few places open. We were sooooo glad we made the decision. The food was exceptional and there was lovely prompt service too. We choose the Deluxe banquet option and everything we tasted was perfectly balanced, tender and packed with flavour. We’ll be back!

Firstly the $55 deal on Uber eats is such a good deal. Secondly, we were supposed to save left overs for lunch the next day but that never happened - so I'd say it was a success!! Would definitely recommend eating from here

You have to ph to book a table, i could not find online table booking. The food was good as usual. The ceiling of the room we were in had a piece of plywood across where the original ceiling had broken. Ladies toilets needed sweeping out, there was no toilet paper and a roll of kitchen towels on the hand basin. The restaurant does split bills they will divide bills e.g 2, 3 or 4.
