Smart, dedicated and experienced. Outstanding service from start to finish. I contacted two other companies and Simply Solar was consistently the most responsive. They listened to what I wanted and provided appropriate, no pressure proposals. You're in good hands with John Rojas and Tom Bickford; they mean it when they say they're there for you.
Simply Solar was a great purchase. We generate enough energy to power our home. Their price, installation and product is top notch.
************* Update - this company has asked I update the review since they completed the work. They ruined my yard and drilled a hole through the outside in to my NEWLY REMODELED living room wall and left it without saying anything. They completely lied about the costs and tax ramifications. I owe more than $15,000 than I was promised due to their deceptive sales. They either do not care or are unable to right by us. I have wasted so much time and money with them. Please contact me directly if you'd like to know more details; I could write a novel at this point. *************** They took our money $20,000 project but cancelled our installation and now refuse to reply to our emails. On top of being treated as nobodies, I don't think this is even legal. Jack Fitchie and Jeff Walkup, why aren't you replying? This is beyond disappointing. Do not do business with this company. There are cheaper and much better options.
We were delighted to find Simply Soar and Rockin’ Roofers for our project. From start to finish they were professional. Starting with our initial contact and discussions about our options through the installation of our roof and then the solar system we were kept informed. The workers did a great job! Worked with David Frank, Jacklyn Budiman for our residential solar installation. There are tons of great reviews about David Frank online and would like to echo them all. The team at Simply Solar were fantastic to work with. We first started working with a different solar provider, SunPower. The SunPower team went MIA and completely ghosted us after 3 months. With no responses or help from their support team whatsoever. We then decided to switch to Simply Solar, and the process worked very smoothly: 1 David was very transparent and helpful from the beginning. Visited our home and laid out all our options. 2 Simply solar team always gave us a clear view of the current status of the project; next steps and the estimated timelines. 3 Team was very quick to respond to any questions 4 Most impressively, Simply solar went from a signed contract to working panels on our roof in less than 2 months ~50 days. We had no headaches. Their project planning and processes worked really well. The solar panels are operating really well. Really glad we worked with Simply Solar and David Frank!
I contracted with Simply Solar to install solar and a new roof. [“Rockin Roofers” is Simply Solar’s dba for their roofing department; it is the same business.] They breached almost every point in the contract, and the work was - not only not to code but also - so poorly executed that it caused enormous resulting damages to my home. The liability is clear; the scope keeps growing. Substantially magnifying problems with workmanship was the struggle at every step to get Simply Solar/Rockin Roofers to acknowledge their responsibility. Their "Ironclad Guarantee" and warranties have been worthless. *Each time* I brought up a problem, they either said it was unrelated to their work or blamed it something or someone else. When you are able to blow their cover, they apologize a lot, promise action and don't follow through. For example, a poorly made connection in the electrical panel installation produced unbalanced electricity currents, which damaged a number of appliances and culminated with a late night emergency visit from PG&E when the electricity was arcing. It looked like there was a poltergeist in the house this is documented. My house could have burnt down. PG&E technicians and two independent electricians showed me that the problem was loose connections during installation. You’d think Simply Solar would have sent out a repair technician as soon as possible when I first notified them – the dangerous arcing, weeks of stress, monetary loss and damages could have been avoided. Rather, Simply Solar’s response was to insist that the malfunctioning was due to a manufacturer's defect, and that I would have to contact the manufacturer to resolve it. After my insistence back that I had contracted with them – not the equipment manufacturer - they repeatedly tried to just replace a part that had burnt out. PG&E and the two electricians told me that just replacing the part is not to code, dangerous, and my insurance provider could disallow claims arising from anything electrical this is the main electrical panel for the house. There were too many problems to list here e.g., failing inverters, no production for 2.5 months; failure to take out permits - you might be able to imagine the horrible stress and disruption in my life this has caused on top of the damages. It is an awful nightmare. I used an excellent, independent inspector - ironically recommended by the company CEO, Jake Hassid - who provided a report documenting Simply Solar’s deficient and dangerous work, and a great attorney. I will post reviews for those firms. And I hope you never need them. Everything I have written is true, based on verified events and inspections - not just opinion. I am not an isolated case, and I am not the first nor only one in litigation with them. I found 18 other cases that mirror my disastrous experience, by digging a bit on Yelp and Google. Obviously, there must be more. Note: My reviews of Simply Solar/Rockin Roofers have previously disappeared despite no guideline violations.
I had a special need, a cement tile roof. The quotes and advice I received from other vendors didn't sound right. Simply Solar had done quite a few installations on my kind of roof and I'm glad I took their experience into account when selecting them. The installation team did a great job, no fuss no muss! When the city gave them a hard time, they stood their ground, were knowledgeable and just handled it. I am happy with my solar panels, monitor them and have 0 extra dollars to pay on true up. I will use them again to add battery back-ups.
Highly competent, communicative, motivated and friendly staff who explained everything in great detail and involved the customer in the design. Estimates were spot on and couldn't be happier with energy bills. Employees volunteered to rush the job out on a weekend near Christmas when the original schedule slipped, as this was a very busy period with customers racing to meet the end of year deadline for the tax credit. We met the deadline thanks to these guys. Troubleshot and replaced a faulty optimizer for us so we could get it fixed sooner. Amazing, amazing people. Not one contractor, all employees. Must be a great place to work. Not the cheapest round the block, but this is about quality, speed and that magic of motivated people who love what they do. Grateful that we went with them so we could have the opportunity to meet these people.
Really professional, easy to work with, local and caring, and affordable. I sourced 4 other vendors, and Simply Solar was the easy choice because of how responsive and quick their turnaround and customer service was. Had a great experience all the way through, and they remain responsive even after when I have questions. Definitely choose these folks!
Professional, kind caring and great listeners. I have personally gone through some pretty rough spots and they were there for me!! Their work is first class. And the money you save is remarkable you will be happily surprised. Their knowledge base regarding how and where to place the solar is truly from a company who knows it's stuff!! They were quick personable and professional. Very trustworthy honest and dependable.. No I am not a relative or business person. I am a nurse and was lucky enough to find them through a friend. Simply Solar would be my first choice again and again if I was to but in another solar system and I highly recommend them to my friends and associates. You will be totally satisfied. Marie Rogers
