Story

Simcox Construction undertake a range of projects for Marlborough property owners; from small, private jobs to large scale construction and rural projects. Established in 1984 by the husband and wife team of Ian, a drainlayer, and Margaret Simcox – the company has grown to offer a diverse level of services, supplied and supported by 60 members of staff. We have a wealth of experience in working in the unique environment of the Marlborough Sounds, providing locals with quality retaining walls, new septic systems, building site development and more. Ian can survey prospective work sites in the Sounds by helicopter, before the crew travels in on barges to complete the job.

Earthworks - We have a range of small to large machinery that we can put to work shaping entire subdivisions or rural units, or preparing residential building sites.

Drainage work- Drainlaying and waterway infrastructure, including stormwater and sewer installations on Industrial, Commercial and Residential properties.

We are experienced in all aspects of drainage regarding subdivisions, new home drainage systems, system upgrades, drain cleaning and sub-soil drainage.

Quarries - We are currently operating from our two quarries, Pukaka Quarry and Barracks Quarry. Pukaka rock is the preferred choice of stone for Marlboroughs top landscapers.

Simcox Construction can also provide large rock which is used extensively for riverbank and foreshore protection.

Our staff are highly skilled workers who are trained in all aspects of quarrying operations, which ensures our working environments meet industrial health and safety standards.

We also offer a mobile crushing and screening plant. Rock drilling and explosive work.

Have a blocked drain? we offer a Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) Drain Survey, which helps land and property owners to identify and diagnose problems with their drainage systems and allows an effective remedy to be put in place.
