I was welcomed with a smile and my order was taken with attention, courtesy and patience. Each time coffee or food was placed before me the waitress made eye contact with me and checked that I had everything I required. She brought sugar without having to be asked which is becoming more the norm. Side Pocket Espresso is a happy place. The staff treat each other, and customers, well. The food, coffee and cakes were outstanding. If they were average I'd still come back because I was made welcome and treated exceptionally well. This small, somewhat hidden gem is somewhere I will bring clients, knowing with absolute certainty that they will leave happy and impressed.
For years now have been delivering one of the best coffees in Newcastle. They also cater to vegans. The vibe is relaxed and personable. The staff are always lovely. If you can, definitely stop in and check them out. Vegetarian options: Caters for vegetarians & vegans. Parking: Parking in the shared car park is usually not a worry.
Not kid friendly; there aren't high chairs availablewhich is fair enough because it's a small cafe, just FYI parents and we felt kinda judged by everyone there for having our 15 month old with us. Great food and coffee, and plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. I would recommend coming here, but unfortunately I probably won't come back.

Came here with a few friends and the food was sooo good. The staff where super awesome and very friendly, which is so nice to see. would I recommend this place = very much so. Just get some lunch/late breakfast and enjoy. So good!!!

Great little coffee shop Café, excellent coffee, food and service, the smoked salmon bagel was delicious, definitely recommend this funky little place tucked away in the corner
First time at this cool little cafe. My toastie was awesome, tasted as good as it looks. Coffee was good as well. Worth going a little out of your way for. Plenty of parking at the servo as well.
Friendly service and they make a nice coffee.
