I went to Shutter Box to replace my fresnel lens which was scratched. The owner a nice man who doesn't say much but knows his stuff did a good job and I got my camera back a couple of days later. The cost of the repair was a bit pricy but I'd rather support a local shop than a big company. I also wanted to know if I really needed to equip my camera with a couple of accessories but I didn't feel pushed to buy them at all. My advice: try Shutter Box and see for yourself.
Bad, couldn't even find my $1000 lens or $600 Nikon flash, said it had corrosion even though it had never been outside, Wrote them off without even showing me the parts or the problem. Charged me $ 80 to write them off. Never go near this shop!
Had an old film camera repaired by Shutterbox, and was happy with the service albeit slow and relatively expensive. A few months later, the same fault occurred in the camera, however shutterbox only guarantee their own work for 3 months, so they were unwilling to offer a refund. End result, money spent and still no functioning camera. Disappointed.
Friendly owner. Came here on 24/11/17 to fix the lightmeter on my FM-10. The owner did a little bit of inspection, turns out the problem was in the battery chamber corroded. He charged me nothing
Dithery owner with zero customer service skills who can't seem to communicate with customers. Drove over an hour to get there. Very unhelpful. Left very disappointed and won't be going back. Opening hours are wrong on Google too - not open on Sat. Don't bother with this place as there are other places around with much better friendly customer service.
Had my camera repaired, John did an excellent job, quick friendly service.
10/10 Service. He really knows his stuff! I literally wouldn't trust anyone else with my gear!!
