Tapas and cocktails are two of my favourite things and I fiiiiiiiinally got in here on a quiet Thursday night. I've been past a few times and it's usually so busy that only an extrovert would find themselves there. I had equal parts cocktails and tapas as this is the right and proper way to live one's life. Two tapas items were enough to satiate my substantial hunger. If more food were in front of me would I eat it? Absolutely. But it wasn't, and I didn't leave feeling hungry. The three arancini had a crunch like a bag of potato crisps, which then oozed from inside with supple, perfectly cooked ricey-cheesy goodness. The sauce was also quite good. My margarita was sweet, almost smooth - but drank really easily. So easily that I neglected to photograph it as I received an unimportant phonecall. A fish taco is so simple, so beautiful, so naturally perfect, that it, much like the accompanying negroni, encourages complacency. This taco was fantastic. I so very nearly wrote that the relish was mArGinALLy too sweet for my liking, when the single jalapeno provided the perfect, PERFECT warmth to offset said abominable sweetness. The negroni had a cute garnish which I liked. A little pride in your work, even when your work is a tiny strip of orange peel that inevitably goes in the bin. I have but two issues - one is that it's hard to distinguish the bounds between neighbouring establishments which can be confusing when you walk in. It would be nice if this were signed more clearly but perhaps I just lack assertiveness. The second is that everything on the menu sounds so wonderfully delicious I will have to come back again and again and probably again.

Prompt food & cocktail service, lovely staff. Quite partial to Coco Loco got slathering of shaved coconut.. great starter drink. Crispy soft shell crab was 'crazy' and throughly divine as a starter. Drinking a Pomme Fresh...it's between a apple& cinnamon pie with lashings of meringue probably best served as a liquidity dessert... just saying Daiquiri was awesome to clear the palate Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this amazing tapas bar. Highly recommend it. Come check it out
Unfortunately my experience was negative The young waitress was pleasant. Wagu steak ordered was cold when served. In short value for money came up way short.Food: 2/5
Absolutely adore this place. Been here a few times whilst holidaying in town and our first stop is always to book a table here. The food, the service, the cocktails ALL first class and quite affordable. Poor My personal favourite is the arricinni balls & a Flaming Moe. Thanks Shortys can't wait until we return.
I love this place but be prepared for an expensive night for what seems like a simple Sunday session. Two plates and 3 cocktails and we were in for $115 and hadn't really hit our stride. We left early because the fabulous band were indeed fabulous but too loud for our taste that night as we had lots of chat to catch up on. The food is expensive for what it is but delicious!

What a great find in Lennox! The tapas were delicious lots of gluten free options too, yummy cocktails and the staff were lovely! Highly recommend the fish and prawn tacos. Will definitely be back! Dietary restrictions: Catered for gluten free and vegetarian
Shorty's is a very popular bar with the locals in the social hub of Lennox Head. It has excellent drinks and delicious food! Perfect place to meet friends after a day of shopping and relaxing on the beach for a drink and tapas style dining. Don't miss the Sunday sessions with live music!
Love that they serve a pint glass, and a very nice jug glass. But the service was quite delayed, despite not being too busy, so we waited about 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. We got the buns for food but felt they weren’t very good as they didn’t quite have that squishy bread vibe you normally get, plus we weren’t given any cutlery granted not always necessary or napkins definitely necessary if going with the hands. Nice buzz about the place and friendly service though.
