Kristy and the rest of the team are AWESOME the food was fresh, the chips were fresh. I ordered a beef burger with chips. The burger has so much flavour was juicy and vegetables were fresh. The store was clean and tidy. I was served by Kristy the store leader and she treated me with respect and always had a smile on her face. All the staff were happy and always had a smile on their face. Well done shingle inn will be eating here from now on Wheelchair accessibility: Kristy and the team really make a effort for everyone to enjoy the food even with disabilities.
Cashier very efficient, nice girl. Told me I could order a 3/4 strength flat white and a mocha in mug, not glass. Order arrived. Waitress called it a very weak flat white and I said it should be more than 1/2 strength, near full strength. Reply was "if you like". It was like warm milk, I did not enjoy it. Explained to cashier on leaving and she offered to get me another, take away. Supervisor came up and said I should have said something earlier. I had. So now I had to pay for the take away coffee, which I was not amused at!!!!! Please, please train your staff correctly. I should not be be treated in that manner, and vice versa. Coffee is expensive. Order a double shot and you pay extra! Order weaker and you pay full price and then are asked to pay full price for another? Bad form. :
Worst coffee i have had. Watery and no taste. The girl who served us spilled the coffee and left it there without appologising or cleaning it up. People want to enjoy the 10min break with a nice coffee and a time out. Didnt happen here. TERRIBLE COFFEE...!!
I like the vides of the restaurant overall, although the food was kinda unsatisfying especially the breakfast part of the menu i ordered the goodness bowel and it has no salt whatsoever I understand that it’s optional but it was a bit disappointing the tomatoes in the actually dish was kinda soaked too much so I didn’t like the taste.
Stopped in for an early lunch, and we we served promptly and they had great menu options. We settled for chicken & mushroom lasagne, burger, and Turkish bread sandwich with salmon. Big serves and the burger was very delicious and satisfying however, the turkish bread was dry. Disappointed they don't make their own iced teas but the iced chai was lovely. Sitting in a booth was nice and quiet especially during the busy sales.
$42.20 for a milkshake, iced chocolate , BLT and a poor excuse for a toastie. Overpriced and small quantities. Got charged additional $2.20 for choosing sour dough bread and an extra $1.30 for having cheese on my toastie. Never again will I step into your shop unless you tell your customers the additional charges you slap on without them knowing. My advice to people going here, ask them to explain the bill before paying for it.
The hot chocolate is to die for. I loved it . The milkshake was creamy and delicious. The flat whites came in a nice size mug. The caffeine infused my body and gave me a great buzz. Recommended! Staff are lovely! Nice good feel place for your morning coffee and other addictions.
My New Yorker sandwich was toasted to perfection with generous fillings.. My wife had a delicious chicken, camembert, avocado and mango chutney sandwich on VERY fresh bread. To our surprise the sandwiches were served with a beautifully presented side salad.. We each had the rich vanilla, caramel & malt milkshakes. The staff were friendly and the cafe was clean. We will definitely return.
Ahh the memories. Remember the Shingle Inn in Central Brisbane ? Now where is the window full of cakes and cake boxes tied up with string to take home. Ham and cheese toastie and a piping hot coffee. Not a bad way to spend an hour sitting inside on a cold brissie day, watching the passing parade through the window.
2 eggs bene options on the menu, ham or bacon. Ordered the eggs bene with bacon. Order came out with ham, that's fine mistakes happen but when sent back I heard the chef say " it's the same thing!"lol OK obviously I'm stupid.. secondly 20 seconds later I heard a foul cough come from the kitchen like someone coughing on my food as the cough was definately not covered by a hand.. maybe not but after the comment about ham being the same thing as bacon it's a real possibility. Ate it anyway but won't be dining here again which is a shame as it's usually quite good
