Story

Fish 'n' Chips

"The Shelley Inn started in the year of 1942, previously it was Rousey’s Oyster bar & before that it was a maternity hospital in the late 1800’s. In 2014 Adrian Gard & Steven Dooley previous employees bought the Shelley Inn off Sally O’Conner. At this time the Shelley Inn was half shop half residence with Sally & her family living out back of the property. Adrian & Steven quickly realised the potential of opening up the whole property to the community. The renovation turned out splendid, emphasising all the historical features of the building. This also created two comfortable dining spaces allowing over 70 people to be seated.Shelley Inn is now Australia's No1 Historic Fish & Chip Shop"

Really lovely place beautifully set out in a gorgeous building with a view of the water. Super friendly staff with prompt service delicious coffee and well priced brekky. Didn't get any seafood but can see that it is fresh and laid out in the cabinets ready for a busy day 100% coming back with mates AND MY DOG!!!
Cheap in comparison to other Sandgate outlets. Situated in a lovely old building. Quality food. If you prefer you can sit out by the water after collecting your orderFood: 5/5
Very lovely old Queenslander restaurant, has a nice relaxed atmosphere with a view of the park and waterway across the road. Our take away fish and chips was hot and tasty. Service was friendly and quick. Prices are fairly normal for fish and chips shop. Definitely give this place a try.Food: 4/5
Why have the staff been told "The boss has told us not to give out the wi-fi password"? What the ???? Obviously stuck in 1972. Very underwhelming experience. The seafood basket...$22...was pretty dry...chips were fine...tomato ketchup was an extra $1.00 per small container. Food was hot I ate 'in house' but it felt rather unfriendly. Food looked rather unappealing...and dry, but it was indeed tasty...does it hurt to add a bit of coleslaw or at least tomato sauce ? I guess it is all down to perception. But perception is reality...and this was 'Meh'...
Fantastic restaurant with fresh seafood variety and friendly staff with a great view in Shorncliffe
A pretty good feed but my local fish and chip shop not in a coastal location is cheaper and does their cod and chips just a little bit better. Here, you can dine in inside or on the verandah or cross the street to one of the many picnic tables along the waterfront park. I've been eating takeaway from here for over 50 years and the shop is looking the best it's ever been. Still recommended.
Ironic I went here but don’t eat seafood. However best chicken burger from a fish n chips outlet I’ve ever had. Shared with my best friend, my doggo, too big for o just me and watched the moon rise over the airport. Perfect vibe
This little gem is across town for me but worth it every time. Trust me, I know a thing or two about fish and chips. I am Australia's number one fish and chip connoisseur, my reviews are all that matters. If you want quality fish and chips plus all the other good stuff go here. Tell them Seagull sent you!Food: 5/5
We thought we would eat here on the recommendation from my dad who was with us. Ordered calamari and chips and potato scallops. I have to say this was hands down the worst calamari and scallops I've ever eaten. The scallop was like eating just batter barely any potato and was like a rock, and the calamari rings were the same, barely any squid at all small and hard. My dad was with us and even he said this is not the usual quality so I'm not sure what has happened but I definitely won't be back anytime soon.
Probably the worst I've ever had. Paid $42 for a meal "for two" got a portion size for a child. Two handfuls of chips. Fish was dry and over cooked and tasted very old. Definitely won't be coming back unless I feel like selling my organs for Medicare food
