My Daughter has been at Shelford since Year 7. Having worked extensively in education, I am so impressed not only with the excellent standard of teaching and learning at Shelford but also by the genuine, caring and supportive community that exists through all levels of the school - from students and staff to parents.nnWhen we visited a number of schools to make decisions about high school, Shelford really stood out. And I'm glad to say hasn't disappointed since.nnOur daughter is thriving there and loves it. She has a great group of friends, is doing well academically and has so many leadership and extra curricular opportunities.
My girls joined Shelford in Term 3 this year. They are very happy and enjoying their school time everyday!nCompared to our previous private school, Shelford is more caring, supportive and responsibility. The teachers are willing to help the girls. Even the students are very friendly, kind and really helpful as well.nSchool community is great, parents are helping each other. Down to earth.nWe drive 40mins to school every day, yes it is a long drive but we do not regret it! We love Shelford so much.nHighly recommended!
One of our best decisions is sending our daughter to Shelford. The school has a positive and nurturing culture. The teaching staff are phenomenal, and she is doing so well, with a lovely friendship group. We couldn't be happier.
After touring a number of schools in the area, we chose Shelford for our daughter in Grade 5.nnThe intimate class sizes, strong sense of community, academic rigor and the delightful students who took us on the school tour helped us make the decision.nnIn Grade 8 now, our daughter is absolutely thriving at Shelford. The teachers know the students intimately and adapt the learning to both support and challenge the girls. The performing arts curriculum and regular performances are a huge highlight. She participates in everything from debating, clarinet, choir, musicals, rowing - and is so busy and invested with Shelford, there seems to be no time for distractions which can be a challenge for girls at this age.nnShe’s made incredible friends and the general school community is passionate and down to earth - ‘No Princesses’ we were told at enrollment and we love that!nnIt is frustrating to read news articles spreading disinformation surrounding the school’s future and this has created some unnecessary angst for parents and students.nnI’d highly recommend Shelford for those that are looking for a small school with a focus on academic performance, a strong sense of community and values that builds strong, independent women.
Selecting Shelford Girls’ Grammar for our daughter's secondary education has turned out to be an excellent choice. After exploring numerous other co-ed and girls' schools and feeling uncertain about which one to choose, our daughter's primary school teacher suggested looking at Shelford, believing it would be the perfect fit. What drew us in initially were its intimate environment, smaller class sizes, academic excellence, outstanding VCE results, and the diverse co-curricular activities. When she started, we were impressed by the comprehensive well-being and mentoring program and the overall supportive environment which allowed our daughter to easily adjusted to her new school. The warm welcome extended by the diverse and down-to-earth Shelford community further affirmed that we made the right decision.nnNow in Year 10, our daughter thrives excuse the Shelford marketing pun with outstanding academic achievements and personalised accelerated learning, allowing her to start selected VCE subjects a year early. She has become more confident and actively participates in many extra and co-curricular activities, including leadership, swimming, electric bass, various band and music programs, rowing, and performing arts. She has an amazing friendship group, has developed connections across multiple year levels and is supported by a beautiful and respectful cohort of girls.nHer comment the other morning on the way to school says it all, “I love my school”.
