I officiated a wedding at Sheldon Receptions today, and as always, it was absolutely beautiful, especially in the springtime!nThe venue is surrounded by stunning white blossom trees that make the perfect backdrop for photos. The ceremony was held in the pavilion overlooking the ornamental lake and charming bridge, such a romantic setting. Sheldon is always a pleasure to return to , elegant, well-kept, and truly one of Melbourne’s hidden gems for weddings. Highly recommend!
Arrival at the foyer, greeted by friendly staff and waiters handing out beverages and finger food. 30 minutes into a chat with friends , the staff accompanied you the your allocated table . The wedding night celebration was great, food was above the standard reception that I’ve been at, good selection of drinks and staff never hesitate in bringing you something that you requested . If I needed a reception in the near future Sheldon reception would be the perfect choice.
We just wanted to say a huge thank you to the Farhad and the entire team for going above and beyond to make our event so special. Every detail was perfect — from the setup and service to the care and effort put into making everything run so smoothly. We truly appreciate all your hard work and kindness. You made the day unforgettable, and we’re so grateful for your incredible support and professionalism. We’ve received so much positive feedback from our guests about how beautiful everything was.
Beautiful Wedding venue with very lovely and professional staff. Always love serving Bubble Tea here. Farhad is super thoughtful and offers us a table everytime we setup our Bubble Tea station. Always easy to organise scheduling and our setup. Definitely in the top 3 best venues in North west Melbourne.
Unfair and misleading business practices! DO NOT trust their contract terms…nnI booked Sheldon Reception for a function in June 2025 and paid $14,000 in total. The wedding was called off and I had to cancel the booking five weeks in advance. According to the original signed contract, only the $4,000 deposit was non-refundable unless the date was rebooked. They’ve now refused to return any of the money, including the additional $10,000, even though no services were rendered.nnI personally went in to speak with management and sent multiple emails following up. I was repeatedly told they were “seeking legal advice” as my agreement was an “older version” of their contract and then after two months of radio silence, they came back denying all liability.nnTo justify keeping the full amount, they sent me a completely different and updated contract not the one I signed, with new refund clauses and a sliding scale that they tried to enforce retrospectively. That is misleading and unethical.nnI have given them a week to rectify their unethical practices and will be lodging a formal complaint with Consumer Affairs Victoria. I will escalate this matter further if necessary…nnTo anyone considering Sheldon Reception: read every word of your contract, get everything in writing... If anything goes wrong, they will not act in good faith! They will kick you while you’re already down!nnPathetic, unpleasant and very unprofessional.
