Perfect place for my dumplings fix - Xiao Long Bao, Pan Fried Dumplings with Pork and Spicy Wonton are on my must-order list. Reasonable price, quick and no frill service - 45 minutes allocated for each seating. Can get busy during weekends and Thursday night, be prepared to wait.
Food is good here. The bamboo in soy sauce was nice. The chicken was crispy albeit a bit dry. The sauce accompanying it was a nice addition. The xiao long bao and the pork and chive dumplings were made well and nice and savoury. It was paired well with the sauce available on the table. The vegetable dumplings were average, nothing special about it. The spring rolls were hot and crispy. The fried mantou with the condensed milk was nice, but the mantou could have been more crispier. The portion sizes were a bit on the small side as we spent more than $30 per person, but was not completely full.
The restaurant is located at chatswood Chase shopping centre in Chatswood suburb Sydney. It about 5-7mins walk from chatswood station. The popular food is Chinese dumplings and little juice buns, crispy chicken and sour and hot soup. Actually it is not that spicy. The don’t use any paper menu anymore, the menu is digital and scan to order. Step 1. Open your camera to scan the QR code below or use a QR scanner app Step 2. Avoid this place at all costs. Sadly this place was one of our favorite place to eat at Chatswood. Not anymore. My daughter here got food poisoning due to their watermelon juice. No sympathy provided and asked my very young daughter to leave right away. This place is inhumane and not a decent waitress or waitresses. We left right after my daughter can walk. Strangely another customer not long after got exactly the same food poisoning from watermelon juice and started running to toilet. Again no sympathy provided. Please stay away. Photo is the watermelon juice from other lady who vomited right after finishing this
Loved watching the skilled fingers create dumplings through the glass. Steaming plates of soup buns and dumplings flying past. The service efficient but with little time for polite chitchat.
A great Shanghai dumpling restaurant, where the delicious dumplings and noodles are made in the glass walled kitchen, so you can observe their handiwork. One of our favourites. Great flavour and a nice fit out, all conveniently located in the food court level of Chatswood Chase, where you can get 3 hours of free parking.
Feels like this joint used to be better.... Came here on a Thursday night at 6:30 and still had to wait 30min to get a table. When we sat down we were told we only have 1 hour dining time. Feels like this is just not enough for dinner. We ordered and the food came out immediately as if it was prepared earlier. Only the soup dumplings felt like it was made to order. The food overall was very average and service wasn’t so good.
Great dumplings per usual. Beef hor fun was peppery but delicious in its peppery-ness. If you're not keen on pepper, definitely don't order it. We liked the online ordering as it meant you could order any time and add more dishes without needing to wait for someone to take your order. Extra surcharge on Sundays but it seems to be a thing these days. They do make a point to let you know before you are seated though which is thoughtful even though there's also a sign to let you know at the entrance.
All the food was excellent and the staff were friendly. There was a variety of food and I love them all. I have already been going to this restaurant several times and is usually my one of my first choices when I go to Chatswood.
I love this restaurant. dumplings are what you are there for. Friendly staff, foood delivered quickly and reasonable price. Highly recommended, if you want good quality food, go there, stir fried noodles are really good too!!
