I had two lovely Saturdays learning the basics of sewing with Tanya and Melissa, who are so lovely and helpful, and Melissa's little puppy Pepper is as cute as a button and a little bit cheeky. The 'Sew Make Create' studio has a lovely vibe and the workshops were extremely well run and organised. It was rewarding to put all the skills I learnt into making my own cushion and I will definitely return to do more workshops soon :
I did the basket weaving class with Cecilia. It was great fun, she had lots of tips and tricks for beginners and I was able to follow along and finish my little basket on the day. We also received how to videos afterward to inspire us to continue on. The venue was charming, tucked away from a busy road and handy to lunch places or even a lunchtime swim in Victoria Park pool. I would highly recommend this business to anyone wanting to explore craft classes. We had a sewing class alongside us and they also seemed to be having fun and being most productive. I will be looking to see what else is on offer next year.
Took two courses here a few months ago and the instructors were very welcoming and helpful and I liked the pillow and basket I made. The courses only had a few students especially the sewing one which makes learning easier. Just wish the courses were going for 30 min longer to allow finishing your project without being in a rush, especially for people like me who are rather slow in picking up crafting. That being said, the instructors stayed a bit longer anyways to help with unfinished work.
I absolutely loved the class! Made myself a cute little pillow and picked up a great life skill in the process. Will most certainly be doing another class soon!
I’ve done the beginner’s introduction to sewing workshop and the clothes making workshop at Sew Make Create. I learnt so much from both and I had a lot of fun as the instructors and other attendees are all really lovely people. It’s also great that you get to leave each workshop with something you’ve made yourself!
Wanted to learn how to use sewing machine with an aspiration to be a dressmaker. Even though I was an absolute beginner they were very understanding and patience with each steps. Of course it was a very enjoyable class. Today I have redesigned and upformed a skirt that I have bought from an op-shop! So anyone who would like to learn to use the machine or want to try a new thing and to get a new skill, please visit!
I had such a lovely time at the beginners workshop. It was so well organised, lovely classmates and the teachers were friendly, welcoming and very talented. I've done some sewing previously and this course has given me more confidence with sewing know how. I'm looking forward to joining another course to further my skills and meet more lovely people in the community.
My 10 year old daughter and her best friend attended the 2 days Introduction to Sewing workshop during the school holidays and had a great time! She made a top and dress, scrunchies, pouch bag and a tote bag all in 2 days. The teachers are amazing. They have been very accommodating to the needs of different student whom has different experience level. With a small class max 5, my daughter has really learnt a lot under the patient and caring teachers in a very creative and stimulating space. We will definitely be booking for more sessions in near future. Highly recommended.
