I had a really positive and pleasant experience at Service NSW Miranda today. I was assisted by a lovely lady named Melissa, and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Melissa is a great example of perfect customer service and a true asset to the team. I just wanted to make sure her efforts didn’t go unnoticed. Thank you again, Melissa!
Terrible. I went to Service NSW Miranda to transfer my car registration from interstate. They told me I didn’t have the right paperwork and had to wait up to six weeks. I apparently needed the most recent registration form from my previous state. I presented with the original from when I first registered my car in 2020. My only other option was to pay stamp duty again. I also had a purchase receipt/tax invoice from when I bought the car that detailed I had paid stamp duty at time of purchase. I spoke to the call centre who assured me I had enough documentation to proceed with the registration, I went to Service NSW Engadine and had no dramas at all. Service NSW Miranda lack knowledge of the policy they work under and some members were quite rude. FYI there is no mention in the front line policy for Service NSW that indicates you must have the most current registration from your previous state and when you look online it doesn’t indicate that you need to bring any at all. You just need a blue slip, green slip and proof of ownership.
Do not attend Miranda service NSW for your license test if you want to pass. My family has had 3 negative encounters with driver tester Carlos over the last 5 years. The recent one was last week when my 17yr old went for the P’s test. Carlos’s behaviour was rude, abrupt, intimidating and unacceptable during the course of the test and afterwards. He shouts multiple instructions during the test and when you try to reiterate where he wants you to go he either says nothing , grunts at you or says “were you not listening”.He then marks you as not following instructors instructions on the marking sheet! He grabs the wheel or shouts at you to stop for no apparent reason. This behaviour is not what you need when you are already nervous and anxious during the test. After the test last week he called my child up told her she failed and said”go book another one at the desk”. Understandingly my child was upset and started crying and started to walk away then Carlos called her back calling her disrespectful for walking away however she was not aware that he had finished. He threw the result sheet at her with no feedback or explanation with what she did incorrectly. Upon hearing this I was sitting close by and heard what he said I approached Carlos myself and spoke to him about his behaviour and he just grunted back at me and didn’t care. There was absolutely no empathy towards my child or myself and no acknowledgment for how we felt about his behaviour. To top it off he yelled “I do not fail people, they fail themselves”. Carlos is clearly on a power trip and delights in watching these poor learner drivers squirm in their seats while he yells and shouts instructions at them to make them more nervous so they trip up and fail.nHe needs to be held accountable for his behaviour and actions but clearly nothing is being done. I made an attempt to speak to the manager after the test to complain about his behaviour but was told there was no one available and directed me to the online process which I did complete but doubt anything will be done. There are multiple bad reviews about him and every driving instructor in the St George/Sutherland shire area knows and warns you about him. How many complaints and bad reviews do you need to get something done about this person! The best thing to do is stay away and do not take your driving test there.
Terrible experience doing the driver test today. I had been advised of how rude and nasty the test officer Carlos would be but I couldn’t imagine how bad this was going to be. As soon as I drove up the ramp from the service car park, Carlos started demanding that I ignored traffic signals there’s a give way and started yelling and verbally abusing me when I did the right thing and refused to move as I was giving way to oncoming traffic. He said things like “you have to do what I tell you to do”, “do you not understand what I’m saying?? - MOVE!”, etc. Carlos was extremely rude and I genuinely felt like he was about to hit me for not listening to him when he was virtually forcing me to commit a traffic offence!!nThe test is meant for you to show and prove that you know the rules and can safely drive, not having to take abuse and intimidation from a figure of power like Carlos who we are meant to be following instructions from to make a point. Yelling and forcing you to do the wrong thing is not the way!nThe same thing happened when I drove back inside. I misheard his instruction and didn’t park properly. He forced me to leave the car occupying 2 spots and when I tried to park properly he yelled saying I had to listen to him and I couldn’t move the car at all. Then inside the service NSW he yelled the same in front of everyone.nMy instructor and I reported this to Madeline who was in charge and she said that they’ve had multiple complaints about Carlos, for the same thing but it was above her pay grade and she couldn’t do anything about it. It is so frustrating to know that there is someone like Carlos working here and doing this to students.nIn the end, I did pass my test with over 97% but I wouldn’t want anyone to go through this experience ever!nService NSW need to understand that playing tricks and being nasty is not the way to test how well people drive
I had Laura or maybe it was Lauren? Anyway, she was lovely to deal with. Friendly and great communication. My visit required processing of a medical certificate and calling NSW transport this took a while, but she got me to sit and kept me in the loop A great experience!
