Mark is a wonderful clinician and human being. He has always provided first rate professional service and is a very personable man working in what I now understand can be difficult and demanding conditions and dealing with pet owners. Previously I wrote an insensitive review adverting to the lack of emergency care for animals in the Blue Mountains area. Inter alia, I stated that this practice advertised an after hour service that directs you to another number for another practice that is not open after 6 or 6.30 pm week nights. For animal owners in the mid mountains you really only have the Animal Referral Hospital which is a 60 minute drive. SASH at North Ryde is good but the other one in the western suburbs is an understaffed rip off and the practice in Mulgoa Road at the foot of the mountains is also an outrageous rip off with dubious standards and overservicing on top of gouging. So basically if it’s a life threatening situation your dog is probably as good as dead. Mark has since reached out to me and appraised me of the current situation with shortages of veterinary staff in Australia and the inability to provide after hours care. I have since found out that veterinarians have high rates of stress and suicide. My initial remarks were made out of ignorance and frustration and for this I retract them and apologise to Mark and all of the staff at this practice and thank them for the care with which they have treated my dogs and despite being stretched, their sensitivity and willingness to go that extra step. My sincere apologies and thanks for your patience with me and for opening my eyes to a situation I was completely unaware of.
Staff are so knowledgeable and great with difficult cats! I highly recommend this veterinary hospital. They’re friendly, welcoming and great! Chow is a very strong big cat and we desperately needed his nails cut and they are so good at dealing with animals that they did this with ease! I was so happy because it usually takes my partner and I to hold him down which is very stressful for him. He’s that strong! Thank you so much!!! Very grateful for your help!
We love Selwood so much! They have been so supportive and kind toward us from the beginning of our dog owning journey. We found the puppy preschool really helpful and the knowledge and support provided by Dr Lynn and the vet nurses was exceptional. We had other friends attend puppy preschools at similar times at other establishments and the quality difference was astounding. Worth every cent!nnThe routine preventative care has been excellent and our dog has come to love going to the vet. This proved especially valuable when we required care and treatment for problems as our dog already knew and trusted the staff at Selwood and was happy to submit to the procedures required.nnWe have found the communication to be superb, with staff clearly outlining options and associated costs so that we could make informed decisions. We have appreciated knowing what to expect, with costs to date mostly coming in less than quoted - a much better surprise than the reverse situation!nnIt is clear to me that the staff at Selwood genuinely love the animals they care for and are also extremely empathetic towards owners as they face the difficult choices that come when your beloved pet is sick. We are so grateful to know we have people we can trust to help us provide our beautiful dog with health care when he needs it.nnThanks Team Selwood!
Amazing vet hospital. Vet was wonderful with my puppy and they are well priced.
Dr Mark and staff were so kind and considerate towards me and my little poodle who passed away. Everyone was so helpful and understanding in my time of sorry. I would not hesitate to recommend Selwood House Vet Hospital. My heart is so broken I have lost my baby girl it's empty and hurts.
