Waited 46 minutes for grilled cod and $4 of chips after being told 20-25 mins. "5 more minutes" means 15. Friendly but slow food service, average food picture, below average value, would have ordered more had I known the portions. The kitchen appeared to be well staffed. Extra star for the legendary young man running the front of house, he did a great job handling all the orders.
The google reviews sounded great but the experience was terrible! Our order took so long, like about 40 minutes! They werent even very busy and we were crazy hungry! Then we noticed the Staff were out the front smoking which was very offputing, they also kept wiping sweat off there face with their hands which looked unclean so we threw most of the food out. The fish was dry and the chips undercooked. We wont be back. The hotel concierge told us to go to the seafood shop beside the bakery when we come back through at Christmas time. Hopefully that bit of information is helpful to others! Bargara Beach is super beautiful though! Paradise
Perfectly battered seafood! So crispy and fresh, the only batter that is light and delicious! The customer service from the cashier was absolutely amazing and so kind and helpful with our order, he was so great and welcoming! The shrimp cutlets were superb and the calami is the best we’ve had! Food came out in less than 10 minutes and we ate it at the beautiful beach near by! Best fish and chips we’ve ever had!
After waiting more than an hour 3 of the 5 items in our order were wrong calamari instead of fish, we couldn't bear the idea of waiting another hour for a corrected order so we just ate what we were given Salad looked like it arrived in a time machine from 1978. Just iceberg lettuce, onion, tinned beetroot, slices of tomato and cheese Fish was not bad, but not good enough to justify the 1+ hour wait. Chips were obviously cooked some time before everything else in our order and the quantity of chips across the items in our order varied wildly
Tried fish flake and chips. It was really good. The fish was crumbled and was really crunchy. I also tried their calamari which I highly recommended. The calamari was large, crunchy and tasted great. Even just come by and buy the calamari is worth it.
Travelling through lovely Bargara. We ordered: 1: Sweet Lip with chips $15 - was a very solid piece of fish, slightly dry but probably because of the type of fish 2: Red Emperor with chips $14 - the fish was as expected, juicy, fleshy, great quality 3: 6 pieces of calamari with chips $10.30. The calamari rings were huge and tender. Took the fish and chips to eat by the ocean. Bloody amazing. One tiny comment - would be cool if the golden and crispy batter stuck to the fish a little better. Chicken salt and crispiness of the chips was spot on. All round great fish and chips
Could be a great experience if they have more staff on the counter. I phoned my order through got to the shop in 11 mins to find my order ready but in the hot box, because the shop was full of people ordering and only 1 person on the counter myself and another person waited 15 mins to be handed our orders . Sadly the fish and chips were nearly cold when checked after getting in the car. Another 10 mins home and I had to re heat them which ruined the moisture from the fish. Not good enough I’m sorry.
Fantastic fish and chips cooked beautifully and so fresh. All boxed up and looked great. Friendly service and great prices.
Got chips with tomato sauce here, SO GOOD! Great for anyone that wants some quick chips to take home. Highly recommend
Service good, pleasant and quick. But sadly food was not so good, hi fish overcooked, because it was so quick led me to believe is was double fried. Chips were hard, thin and very poor. Not a good result.Food: 1/5
