This was hands down the best yum cha I’ve ever had in MelbournennMake sure you call ahead to reserve, especially on weekends, as seats are very limited. Yum cha is served in a large hall. You queue outside and are let in in batches — our session started at 1:30 pm.nnAll dishes come around on trolleys, so there’s no ordering from a menu. The selection is fairly wide, mostly classic yum cha items done very well.nHighlights:nBean curd rolls : 5/5 – Highly recommended. I love soy-based dishes, and the filling was very generous and flavourful.nnSteamed pork ribs with black bean sauce : 4/5. There was a whole piece of taro underneath — such a pleasant surprise and absolutely delicious.nn: 6/5. Extremely fluffy and incredibly tasty. The only downside is the portion size — quite small for $8.50 .nnRice noodle rolls : 5/5. The wrapper was super thin and silky, with very large prawns inside.nI’ve seen many reviews complaining about poor service, but my first experience was excellent. The staff spoke both Cantonese and Mandarin, and no one seemed impatient at all.nnMy only advice is to eat slowly — everything looks tempting, and before you know it, the bill adds up quickly.nnApart from being pricey, there’s really nothing to complain about.
Always love a yum cha place with the dim sum trolley like the traditional way. I personally think that the city branch taste better, as there were a few hit and misses here. However, the fried squid tentacles and steamed “” brown sugar sponge cake were amazing here! And they even served “” CNY sweet rice cake here! How nostalgic
We booked a private dining experience to celebrate my child’s full moon, and I was thoroughly impressed by the service provided by the manager at Secret Kitchen Doncaster, David.nnDavid was exceptional — an absolute delight to deal with, and incredibly helpful and accommodating in assisting us with our menu selection for the occasion. The food was equally impressive, and we certainly weren’t disappointed!

Had yum cha here which was nice. Booked the 13:30 session so it was good to see two queues for a pre booked and a walk up.nnFood was tasty and came around frequently so a lot of choices and variety. Staff were accommodating and lovely to deal with. Would definitely come back for yum cha here.
