Such incredible service I received! I would highly recommend this salon to anyone. The staff pay such a high attention to detail, and is the only place I trust to do my hair. Everyone that works there is so friendly and talented,  this is now my go to salon.

Very disappointing. Only go here if you want a “quick, walk in” experience. I booked ahead online for a proper hair cut and this is what I got: 

1. I booked a haircut online and when I arrived I had no assigned hairdresser as their online system booked me a beautician. 
2. Because I wasn’t assigned a hairdresser or adequate time for a hair cut I was crammed in with whoever was free. If I wanted a “walk in” appointment I would have gone to hairhouse warehouse. 
3. The girl who was assigned to me had inadequate English skills. Hair is special thing for all women and when you give directions for what you want, it’s important the person 100% can understand you before they cut your hair. This made me nervous and I should have stopped here .. 
4. The haircut was over in about 5 minutes.. no hair cut is ever over in 5 minutes. I have long hair and a typical haircut goes much longer for this so layers are evenly spread and don’t appear “choppy” once dried. 
5. I stopped there and spoke to the manager who couldnt empathise with me. I explained that when a customer is paying full price for a hair cut, adequate English skills are assumed by the customer. If the hair dresser has sub par English this is something that must be explained to the customer and they can either agree to continue or not. If this was explained to me I would have said no and made an appointment with someone else on another day rather than hand scissors over to someone who couldn’t understand my requests. 

In the end the owner took over to complete the hair cut and I left with wet hair as I couldn’t stand to be there any longer than necessary. 

If someone’s a learning apprentice the customer has to be told. 

Similarly, if someone has sub par English the customer has to be told. 

I only get my hair cut around 3-4 times a year and this was a very bad experience.

I have been coming to second avenue for the past 10years! I absolutely love the staff and always have great results and service! always get my hair done by Iris! Occasionally done by Sam and Clara who are also awesome!

Been going here since I was 18, so over 15 years.  Sam the owner is a legend.  Great service, great team and a lot of pride in improving his business over the years, worth waiting for!!

I've been going to second avenue for many years SAM and his staff have been looking after my wife and I and now my 2 boys.
The team have always been more then willing to accomodate us with any appointments.
I can recommend this small but really personal salon to anyone.
We understand that sometimes we all run behind schedule including myself.
The longest I've ever waited for my stylist is 15 minutes.
10 minutes on the waiting chair and 5 minutes having a luxurious scalp massage in the very comfy basin chairs.
