Went there to film the Jamaican Music and Food Feastival. Had such a great time. The area is huge and make it easy to put on an event. There are places indoors and out doors, places for stages and even a pub on location. The view to the city is also excellent. Highly recommend.
Pirates Tavern is a NOT to be missed local LIVE MUSIC institution secret!. Do yourself a favour and check it out. Live music usually on friday evenings and on sundays.. Wendytavern manager and Mauricepresident Wlliamstown Maritime Association will both welcome you to their secret spot.. Entry off Anne street last gate to the left... A fun venue recomended!!
It's a great reference to visit a working shipyard with so much history. A tour of the Steve Irwin was a particular treat with volunteers from Sea Sheppard giving this and explaining the conservation work they do. This is no cruise liner, this is a ship where people live and carry out important work.
Overall the experience was good. We caught a film on a Saturday night which started an hour later than the advertised time, understandably they had to wait for sundown but perhaps this needs to be emphasized at booking. We sat on these gorgeous Cape Cod chairs, which while they looked nice can get uncomfortable on your behind after about an hour. Perk was unlike other cinemas, you can bring food in, saw other people bring pizza which was a fantastic idea. There is also a bar which is relatively priced. Melbourne's weather is unpredictable so make sure to bring blankets and extra cushions for the backside. The website says free parking on Ann Street but also saw people parking on-site.
Entry is free but recommended to donate so the volunteers can keep running this amazing place. Very helpful staff who would go out of the way to help you.
Great venue for events
SeaWorks ,octoberfest, quite reasonable, food expensive, but ok Because it is octoberfest, and German beer , and free beer stein to take home, free entertainment ,German band, so altogether quite nice event, annual event I am sure,to be successful.
Great spot for a drink at the inhouse bar Good views of surrounds Close to township
Great spot for a summertime pop up cinema by Sun Theatre Yarraville
Great place and full of interesting maritime history. Went for the over the weekend event. Great music and great atmosphere. Pit the Pier has now been condemned as I would have liked to see the Steve Irwin.
