Seashells Cafe-Amity Point

Nice restaurant with a good choice of food and drinks in the medium price range see menu photo. The place is fully licensed and serves local and regular beers. The food was fresh and tasteful with friendly staff. Parking is free on the side of the street. There are not too many choices in this area but this is definitely worth a visit.

Food is four star for the price but the service ticked my "exceeded expectations" box for a five star review. One of our dining party had never been to Minjerribah, and we were staying at Point Lookout with expectations of dining at a reputable venue within the resort we were booked into. It was her birthday after all! They were closed for two weeks. Second option was a prominent venue on the island that didn't reply to our phone calls, messages or Facebook requests. After a frenzied internet search Seashells was our third choice - it should have been our first. The young lady that took my phone call was bubbly and enthusiastic not normally associated with Straddie dining venues. Booked in easily. We arrived on the day seriously early but accommodated without an issue. I can't speak highly enough of the service here. Attentive without being pressing, drinks and orders taken quickly and processed accurately. I always end up photographer in our group but the waitress asked "would you like me to take a photo?" - that alone warranted a top review. They even piped our friend's cake plate! Drinks were well presented and affordable. The only minor criticism I had of the whole evening was that steaks were overdone - the medium rare came out medium well and the medium came out well done. Also what's with the orange! presented on absolutely everything Their service is a beacon of light on an island with sometimes mediocre hospitality. Thank you!

Came to the island and dropped in here for lunch. I had the chicken burger and a caesar salad. Food was very good and the portions were generous. Four of us had dinner which came to $70 AUD, which I found a little pricey for this type of restaurant. This restaurant does not allow dogs to come into the dining area. Overall, I would come here again.

Fantastic place, been many times relaxed atmosphere. Coffee is great, the eggs Benedict is amazing. Very fast service and friendly helpful staff definitely recommend it.

Very happy food great and staff great and friendly and have plastic plates and cups for children which is great when you have young children that they have it there.

This was the best meal we had on the island. Flavours were good, the snapper was tasty. The staff were nice and this was the only place that actually got our entire order correct. Takeaway coffee was also good. Definitely recommend.

Being the restaurant understaffed we had a little to wait before ordering our food but we were not in a rush so we were totally fine with it. The gentleman was totally cool with us and fun! We ordered a seafood basket and a special snapper of the day, the food came in a good size for its price! Loved the environment and the location, will definitely come back!
