Loved the local kingfish we had this grilled, it was sweet and grilled well. The crumbed dory was delightful, and you could still taste the fish under the crumb which was really nice. The chips are very crunchy and tasty, but too salty for me maybe ask for less or no salt on the chips, and the hand crumbed calamari was sensational. We managed to drive back to our accommodation in Korora and paired with some nice beers for a chilled out dinner.
Delicious food! We had spent just a night in Coffs and were craving seafood. Glad we found this place. The welcome not so friendly not sure if it was because they were 40mins out from closing or what but none the less the food was great! Great bottle-o just 2 min walk from the place.
Service is quick the food came out fast. A wide range of drinks and selection on the menu. The battered fish is delicious! Can't fault it. There's a few seats outside so you can dine in.
Was on a 2 day visit @ Coffs …One of the best fish & chips I’ve ever had … the batter & flavor was tasty and different from other fish & chips I’ve had … fish felt really fresh and wish that special batter it was just crunchy outside soft & juicy inside … ordered fisher man’s basket … wish we had similar ones in Brisbane
Proper gross. That kind of fish and chips where you know the oil doesn't get changed very often. The four of us felt sick after a few pieces of fish, scallop and two or three chips. And the staff were rude. The girl who served us didn't say a word at all we didn't mind until the food sucked and the woman who bought the food out just shouted our number. The shop looked nice but a tad unhygienic, could use a good clean. Oh and the entire meal is just sitting in our fridge because nobody wants to throw out $70.
Normally very good food. But today after shopping we didn’t feel like cooking so went there on opening time. I ordered 2 lots of 3 pieces of fish and chips. We got 2 pieces with chips however on checking my card was charged correctly. Also the food was not very hot which you would expect being cooked on opening. Very poor for them we will consider using another fish and chip shop in future if their standards are dropping.
The food took 40 minutes to arrive, and there was no forewarning of this although it seemed to be an issue for many other people who were waiting at the same time. Perhaps if we had been informed, we could have taken a short walk around and would have at least been prepared for the long wait. On top of this, they charged an extortionate $2 for 40g of ketchup. We bought one but upon realising how small it was we decided to take a trip to the Spar approximately 80m away and bought a large 500ml bottle for $2.10! As for the food itself; the battered fish was quite delicious but the chips were below average and we didn't finish them.
I got the Cajun Grilled Fish Wrap and it was amazing! For around $18 the wrap was a generous size and the ingredients were fresh and colourful. Would definitely recommend stopping in for lunch.Food: 5/5
Tasty food, but our last experience wasn't great. Our order took 20 minutes more than expected, which we were happy to wait for. But when we came home, we realised that our Wedges didn't have any sweet chill & sour cream... paid $14.50 for potato chips. Not the best.
We ordered takeaway 3 pieces of fish and chips 1 grilled and 2 battered however they got the wrong order and gave us 2 grilled and 1 battered. The size of the pieces of fish is small but reflects the price so reasonable. Calamari was soft and not chewy and battered fish was crispy but had to wait close to 30mins
