We have been buying Chinese Food from Seahorse Restaurant for many years, since the establishment first opened. The food has always been good quality and tasty. We love the convenience that Seahorse is in a very accessible location, with lots of parking. The service is prompt and reliable. It is always good to know on those nights we do not wish to cook or run out of time, we have a family meal ready in minutes, at affordable prices. May I suggest Rose and Francis that on your great Family Special, Chicken Chow Mein that there is more chicken and less cabbage. This is a dish I ate in my childhood and I remember the vegetables were more balanced with the chicken.
Totally poor quality Chinese food and poor customer service. We spent $100 on a family table only to find a 30cm hair in our satay chicken. When showing the staff they took their hats off and stated that it was not theirs and not their fault. Our 4 family members all had short hair and they implied it was ours. After lots of arguing we asked for the hair back and they could not find it. We were told not to come back to restaurant. Extremely dodgy restaurant and I would not recommend this to anyone. Edit...After reading restaurants comments to the review, I add the following... How can you justify the colour of the hair since you made off with it and then claim to lose it. Then how can you claim it was 'blonde' since it was covered in satay chicken sauce...did you wash it whilst we complained???. You did not offer refund of the dish until we had a 5min argument in which you claimed the hair came from us and I refused to pay for dish. Half way through the protest you would only agree to cover $10 of the dish...since, as you claimed, we ate the bits around the hair before it was discovered. Imagine the look on our daughters face when she pulled a hair from her fork. We paid for other dishes in the meal. Disgustingly poor form on your restaurants behalf and an extetremely pathetic reply to my review. Thanks for showing your true colours and hopefully others learn from this experience.
We appreciate all feedback but we are disappointed as this is an unjustified comment. With respect, the hair we found was a clean blonde coloured hair and this is a key point because all our staff are Asians with black coloured hair. We are disappointed that you decided to post this unjustified review without mentioning that we have kindly offered to not charge you for the dish. We continue to strive to ensure our customers enjoy fresh and great qualify authentic Chinese food
Food is ok and staff very nice. Have not brought takeaway from there for a while but was disappointed to find containers, just half full. $80 would normally feed four of us for two nights, not now. Better value in pizza unfortunately.
we have going to Francis and Rose at Sea horse Restaurant for decades never have they been rude or the food not up to high standards this is not a large restaurant, but the food is great, as are Rose and Francis. nothing is too much trouble. and prices are very reasonable lots of our friends and family think this too. lots of our friends and families member have allergies, and nothing is too much trouble, to make sure every thing is right. in house or take away.
Unfortunately my first experience will be my last. The chicken and cashew was stacked with celery and had no taste. The Thai red curry was the furtherest from a traditional Thai curry I have ever had. I still encourage people to try for themselves as this might be a one-off.
Lemon deep fried duck is good too. Portions could be a little larger, but reasonable value in any case. Will be making this my "local" when too tired to head over to Sunnybank or Underwood.
Always friendly and prompt with their service. Food is consistently of a good quality. We have frequented the restaurant for many years and have always been thoroughly satisfied.
Absolutely beautiful food. We visit once a week as our treat and cant fault anything .The service is good and friendly .The food is fresh .Never had a bad meal
This is my favourite Chinese. Love the combination omelette and special fried rice. Very friendly people, always pleasant.
