Seabreeze Takeaways

This *was* my favourite fish and chip store until my order last night. Ordered a piece of crumbed fish - paying top dollar - but very disappointed - the fish was tiny. Feel ripped off. Also staff need to wash their hands after sneezing into them.

Among the worst takeaways I've had unfortunately. The fish and chips weren't over or undercooked, and looked absolutely fine, but tasted horrible. Both the fish and chips seemed to have a sweet, sugary-like taste!? which of course is not at all the taste you want with fish and chips. Was left feeling very disappointed, and overall not good value. The only good thing was that their service was alright.

Seriously the worst fish and chips in my life. Everything including the chips were over cooked and my $7 piece of blue cod was just plain nasty. It was small and hard, a thin piece of rubber. You could throw it around for as long as you like and it still would remain whole. My daughters battered sausage was severely overcooked and hard. Never never again. I’d be embarrassed serving up that kind of food.

Was so disappointed in my meal. The battered mussels were old n stale and the batter was very weird. I asked for fish bites n she said they don't have any but then in my fish burger,it was fish bites which also weren't tasteful. Was really looking forward to our dinner only to receive that. #stillhungrycustomer

I reckon this is the best Fish and Chip Takeaway in Nelson. They always have the best fish...but more important to me is that the way they do the batter, its well drained and crispy. Tonight we had Bluff oysters and they were big juicy and still the batter around them was crispy. Very delicious.

Google says they close at 8.30 rang at 20 past with a large order. Unfortunately they closed early. They told me several times on the phone they close at 8.30 but turned everything off earlier. I think 8.30 is their leave the shop and head home time. Why bother to have opening hours if you don't stick to them?

I guess everyone has the right to their opinions, so I'll give mine! Burger was AMAZING YUM YUM. Fresh bun, bacon was cooked to perfection. Fish was cooked to perfection pineapple rings were to die for! Chips 1 scoop perfect! The customer service was brilliant and the whole crew on worked well! Very satisfied customer I am. Keep it up guys well done

Cheerful quick service in a clean store. Nice food, not greasy. Some may say the scoops are a little on the light side but otherwise very good.

The lovely people at Seabreeze Takeaways always provide service with a smile and generous portions of yummy, hot fish and chips and other goodies. We are missing seeing you during lockdown but we'll be back when you can re-open.

Crumbed fish must have been a few days old, fish was dry and chewy. $30 order was probably about $10 more than it should have been. Would definitely suggest somewhere else of you have the option, could be better on different day.
