Visit the 2013 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering National Winner, Sea Salt Restaurant located in the centre of Salt Village Resort South Kingscliff on the beautiful Tweed Coast.

Our meals are freshly prepared and cooked to order using local and imported produce and ingredients. Our authentic cuisine is made with love & passion and served with with joy. The waiting staff are delightful. My waitress Tracy, was attentive and efficient and intuitively knew I had limited time for dinner and adjusted accordingly. The pizza chef is an artisan and produced a Napoli style, wood fired pizza that was fantastic! As good as I have had in any city. The only downer was the owner who seemed to enjoy giving his staff a dressing down in public and micromanaging everyone. He needs to chill as he brought a stressful, tense atmosphere to the place. Exactly as I remember it from several years ago. I would have given this place 4 stars perhaps more, if not for this.
Well, we should have read the reviews first... As our experience pretty much mirrors so many others here to a tee. The trainee was lovely and doing a great job on her second night there. For some reason it seemed she was taken off our table after taking our order and replaced by a waiter with zero personality or sense of humour. No smiles, not helpful, just a blank sheet of paper. He looked at the stack of dishes on the table on probably 3 or more visits to the table before finally picking them up. When paying I tried tipping the waitress for her smiles and genuine kind efforts. Then, the man who I assume to be the grumpy owner I've read so much about, rudely butts in to inform me that all tips get divided amongst all the staff and stormed off. I said to the young lady remove the tip from the bill then and I'll go get you cash instead because the tip is for you not anyone else. She responded seemingly quite uncomfortable "oh no it's no big deal, don't worry about it, it's only my second night here". Fearful of the backlash she may receive for accepting a cash tip I assume. Sad as she was a lovely young lady doing a great job. After reading many responses from management here I'm quite shocked at how unprofessional, dismissive and accusational they are. There seems to be very little interest in listening and learning and a lot of focus on pointing at others. Vegetarian options: Somewhat limited
Staff very attentive but the end goal is to get you out and pay. 2 out of party still had full drinks not byo and the male owner came and aggressively forced us out. I knew the restaurant hours as I told my partner but apparently we finished meal and were done. Not in nice way My partner never draws attention to customer service but even they were appalled. I didn't pick the place but read reviews and saw that if you want to split bill ...is cash only, even warned our out of town guests this is the case. so I did think a little help with change by owner would be okay. But he was so aggressive, would touch the bill not letting us see it properly and I really had to raise my voice to tell him to stop interfering. I had to keep saying to him 'let us work it out' but I've never scene this kind of behaviour before. Ever. My partner tolerated so much more than me but they were not having this bull either. Food okay and staff don't deserve this but if he treats customers in this way well... then bet you guys staff aren't treated well too. He was truly awful.
Came in for a 14 person, 40th birthday party and we were seated in two separated tables, both in the worst part of the restaurant. We asked to be seated in the nice, totally vacant area, but were told no. Hardly anyone came to sit in that area the entire time we were there. The food was adequate. But because of the ambiance we left as soon as possible we asked for our cake back so we could eat it elsewhere!. Most uncomfortable birthday party at a restaurant in my whole life. Edit: none of us wanted to sit at two separate tables in front of the kitchen and register. Three of us asked to move, including the man who paid.
The food was great but the service was abysmal. We weren’t finished our meals before the waitress was trying to take our plates and drinks. We were hassled relentlessly until we left. Six visits from the waitress within half an hour and by then we were pretty sick of being harassed so we just left. Would have loved an extra bottle of wine or dessert but we were shuffled out.
Star ranting doesn’t justify this place , Food is amazing & so is the service, its our go to place for Italian, I guess all bad reviews regarding slow or late service should understand that all small Or large business has been suffering from Staff shortages since covid , every business is trying to survive so be patient with the front & kitchen staff. Managing a business is a very difficult with limited staffing, you guys are doing a great job. Vegetarian options: Some great selection of vegetarian pizza & pasta Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian
Well let me just say that the reviews were already enough to turn me off going to this place but my partner really wanted Italian for dinner. Didn’t even make it past the booking stage as the owner refused to seat us because we had a pram. Stating that it would be annoying for staff and other diners. Haven’t had this problem with any other restaurant EVER! Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. This owner clearly doesn’t have any care for his customers. Disgusted. Kid-friendliness: Not at all
Absolutely disgusting owner. Happy for us to book at 8pm but when we ordered straight away on arrival queried our order at 9.20pm we were told sorry we were too busy doing takeaway orders !!! Then when we told the owner we have a type 1 diabetic that had insulin too bad not my problem give him sugar. Disgusting owner !!! Do not recommend this place.
Wish we read the reviews before dining - we should have been able to tell by the mostly empty restaurant when everything else on the strip was full and buzzing. Aside from the food being literally inedible, the service was appalling from what appeared to be the Owner/Manager. Our dinner was left untouched besides the first initial bite, we couldn’t just explain that we didn’t enjoy the dinner and the reasons why - he demanded a waitress to get our full plates for him to inspect, furthermore to get the chef out to start an argument because our comments weren’t valid enough, nor were our full plates. Weren’t willing to take feedback onboard only looking to defend their food. As a breastfeeding mum they also refused to take out the alcohol from their cocktails, unsure why it was an issue to not put in one ingredient - didn’t ask for anything to be specially made. They instead offered their house lemon lime bitters - completely flat as if it was made with water. Despite little customers, no one to check on us for drink refills or to check in with our food. The worst restaurant I have experienced - avoid at all costs.
It deserves negative stars all the way. Pizza tasted like cold fountain bbq. Prawns dish was aaaaa a prawn dish. It was super expensive for few prawns. Had a chicken dish and the quantity that we received for the price was not worth it. However that dish was nice to eat. Anyways my review today is more in regards to the service of the restaurant rather than food quality. A few of us had clocked off work and decided to have some dinner. We should have checked the review for this place because it was just a horrible experience. Ill keep it short, basically we wanted to split out bills and were denied. We offered to pay in cash but for that we needed to go and get cash out from the nearest atm. We were threatened we cannot leave the restaurant and police will be called. It was just unbelievable how the situation took place for that evening. Anyways never again to this place. Please be aware just because they are operating in a tourist place and think they can get away with such behaviour, I can guarantee this place will not last long. There are so many other places to eat, please stay away.
