Great veggie schnitzel with perfect crust. I didn’t mind that it was a veggie patty instead of a vegan meat patty; therefore it was juicy and crispy at the same time. Vegan mayo and the most perfect chips + side salad made a very tasty combo. If something could be better, the schnitzel could’ve been a little bigger. Great service from the staff. Just ask about the vegan options and you’ll get a nice plate for dinner!
Hands down the BEST CHIPS IN TOWN!!! We ate dinner at Schnitz twice during our recent Cairns trip and both times were fantastic. The location is amazing - right near the Esplanade where you can find all the action on a Friday/ Saturday night. The food and service were also great. Our meals came out quickly and were cooked to perfection. They have great meal and snack options to suit everyone at reasonable prices. I had a snack wrap and small chips while my family had the burger + chips and schnitzel + chips both of which were massive considering the cost. Will definitely be back as we cannot get enough of the Schnitz chips! SIMPLY THE BEST :
Our first visit into Schnitz Cairns on Saturday evening 19/03/22, placed our order for 2 meals [ Loaded Schnitzel & Chips + one soft drink], first meal served withing 10-15 minutes & continued waiting for the second meal, after noticing other diners who had arrived after us were being served their meals we prompted the waitress asking what happened to the second meal ? Some confusion with the waitress when we placed our order & she had only ordered the one meal, at the end they apologised & gave us the second meal free which suddenly appeared within 3 minutes + gave us two complementary meal cards to be used during our next visit. Meals was rather bland even though they were a large in portion. Interior of the restaurant is spacious & appeared clean, we wouldn't necessarily rush back.
Clean environment. Friendly staff The meal was nice but the only thing i can fault is that they mixed our orders up. When we noticed they were quick to give me my side salad which was great. My partner had got my salad and sauce and my beef schnitzel was very small. I left still hungry.
Eat with the pigeons, food left on tables becomes a cycle of life for the birds. Two lemon lime bitters, had to ask for a glass ice and a slice of lemon.
I recently visited Schnitz Cairns and I am very pleased with my overall experience. The service was friendly and efficient, the menu selection had something for everyone, and the food was delicious. My partner got a salad and sauce, while I had a beef schnitzel, which was surprisingly small but very tasty. I also enjoyed the vegan mayo on my order, as well as the most perfect chips and side salad. All in all, Schnitz Cairns is an excellent establishment for a hearty meal.
The food was fantastic. Can't be faulted. The lack of stars is for the service provided by Billie. Plates tossed onto the table, followed by eye rolls and stomping away. Second lot of plates came and my son stated, "get ready to catch your plates." Most disgusting service we've ever seen anywhere. It's not often I eat out, but family were visiting so took them for a treat. You'd think being Australia Day, this young girl would be grateful to have a job and appreciate the customers paying her wage.
They have a gluten free schnitzel but I called asking if I could order everything gluten free and they said yes that they always change the oil. When I arrived they told me that actually the fries are not gluten free. So I ended up eating only the schnitzel and I paid for a fries that I couldn’t eat.
Wow, huge servings and great tasting which exceeded our expectations. Would've given a 5 star rating but it's really hot inside due to no air con.
Chips good. Staff friendly. Nice environment to eat in.... but.... if you're business is called schnitz, then you'd think your schnitzels would be decent. Undercooked, cheap, small schnitzels and since when does a parma not have Ham? You need to add it? Both my wife's Parmalat Hawaiian and mine normal... except no ham were really under whelming. Pub meal so much better.
