I worked at this company for a year, and it was one of the worst experiences of my career. I was part of the Finance team. The company reports to its head office in Canada, and unfortunately, the management there shows little regard for their staff. Employees are expected to work long hours under constant pressure.nnThe systems are severely outdated — they still use Microsoft Great Plains, and most financial work is done manually in Excel. Having a CFO in Canada who has been in the role for over 16 years means there is virtually no chance of improvement. The mindset is rigid, resistant to change, and highly controlling.nnAlthough Australia has its own Finance staff, Canadian management dominates every decision. Nothing can proceed without their approval. Staff are heavily micromanaged, and financial reports are questioned so excessively that month-end close, which should typically be finalized by day 3 or 4, often drags out until the very end of the month. Sadly, no real improvements are possible while Finance continues to be tightly controlled by the current Canadian leadership.
One of the higher paying oil and gas companies from employee perspective, good family life balance rosters, good pay at offer to enjoy your time off weather it be with family or mate's, or self indulgence, seem to be a good workplace.
Clean and tidy reception area. Easy to understand remote visitor sign in proceedure and contact phone to the staff.nMeeting held on the premises was fruitful, relaxed and welcoming.nThanks to Linda and Ken for your time.
Lets hope they build a dual highway so we dont get squashed off the road by the big trucks
